I din't think there was a restriction now, as long it really is for personal use.

As far as i know 3700 so long as you buy them in tenerife,and pay the duty.(not at the airport) :y
-
200 from Tenerife as there not part of the EU, paying duty on any more does not make it worth while.

What school did you go to? Get your money back! Tenerife is part of the EU.
Watch out that you can actually buy in bulk amount.The government introduced "limits" on what you can buy per visit. Awkward for all concerned.
10 pouches of old holborn baccy in Spain mainland
are about 47 euros for interest.
-
reason i asked the question is i have friends there on holiday that texted me to ask if i knew. they have just texted again to say tenerife is NOT part of the eu.

I have just bought from Turkey last week 15 x 50gm Golden Virginia pouches for 67.50 Euros, about £56.00 me thinks, that is £3.73 per pouch, compared to £11.79 per pouch in local Tesco.
Must add they were not for me. ::) ::) ::) ::)

Ask them who they think they are part of then? In fact while you are at it ask them to get a refund for their education too! ;D ;D ;D ;D

Tenerife .. capital of the Canaries ...
Canaries .. province of Spain
Spain .. member of EU
and if you don't believe me .. ask your friends what currency they are spending ...... then don't act surprised when they say the Euro ... :)

My brother went to Tenerife. It's not considered part of the EU, as he found out on his return. Glad I didn't go to a Spanish school, like El Varche ::)

The Canary Islands are DEFINITELY part of the EU.
Stick to these unwritten rules, and nobody will bat an eyelid;
- Tobacco: 3200 cigarettes, 200 cigars, 400 cigarillos, 3 kg of smoking tobacco.
- Spirits (Brandy, Whisky etc): 10 litres.
- Wine: 90 litres.
- Fortified Wine (Sherry, Port etc): 20 litres.
- Beer: 110 litres
:y :y :y
EDIT: I've never been stopped coming back from the Canary Islands, in fact, there is hardly ever anyone at Bristol International Airport Customs.

Please see quote from a question to the Tenerife times:
Q: How many Cigarettes can you bring back from Tenerife?
Helen Gallett
A: Hi Helen, thank you for your enquiry on TenerifeTimes.com.
Whist Tenerife is part of Spain and therefore an EU country, Tenerife is classed as a Duty Free Island . . . .
and as such you are restricted to the Duty Free allowances that apply to non-EU countries, your Tenerife Duty Free allowances are:
* 200 cigarettes, or 100 cigarillos, or 50 cigars, or 250g of tobacco
* 4 litres of still table wine
* 1 litre of spirits or strong liqueurs over 22% volume; or 2 litres of fortified wine, sparkling wine or other liqueurs
* 16 litres of beer
* 60cc/ml of perfume
* £300 worth of all other goods including gifts and souvenirs
Most airport security personnel know people try to bring too much into the UK from Tenerife and they will confiscate all your 'goods'.

Bit like going to Wales I guess. Always a relief to get back to the EU. :y
