been to manchester today[i know im a hero] but noticed a lot of speed cameras have another grey one in front of them
anyone no what this is for?

After a couple of phone calls to colleagues in the GMP it appears it IS ANPR.

so does this work with the speed camera eg if the speed limits 50 on a single track road but you in a hgv that should only be doing 40 do you get flashed?

No, ANPR is a totally separate device, however it does transmit "real time " images to some local Police vehicles via VHF and can be plugged into by vehicles also.

Saw this on Birmingham buses. You can't rather move without someone spying on you. ;D
