Title: 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch sockets
Post by: Varche on 29 July 2010, 16:03:31
On top of my half inch socket set, which smaller sockets are best on an Omega. 1/4 inch or 3/8th? I need a good selection to do my ABS ECU (again)

I have a full set of Torx sockets and allen keys.

Would this be a good addition Ebay item 130402511051 ?

I use all three sizes Varche. As for  http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130402511051&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp3907.m570.l1313%26_nkw%3D%2B130402511051%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1
doesn`t seem a bad price.

TBH, need all sizes, I personally find I use all of the wrench sizes for different jobs, i.e 3/8" for dispaks, but 1/2" for alternators, wishbones, etc, but 1/4" are better for plenums, and doing the smaller jobs.
Horses for Courses, buy as much tools as you can afford, they are never wasted IMHO. just stay away from the cheap and nasty brands, buy Britool, Gedore, Snap-on (if you can afford it!!) Halfords Professional and other DECENT brands. Never bodge cos you don't have the right size.
