After a few days in a 3.2 Elite, I have to say, I friggin' love my MV6.
Its quick when you're in a hurry (MV6 v Lambo on way home), it does corners well, and it stops well (when a prat in a lorry pulls in outside lane despite me bearing down on him at probably well over 2.5 times his speed >:()
I do love my MV6 :D

Swap you then. Your Motor for mine plus say £500 cos I don't love mine. ;D

Not a chance, otherwise the language would have been blue! ;D

It was at the time (as were the brake discs once I got home). I expect so much better from 'professional' drivers >:(

Great news - satisfaction with anything is a tonic to most ills 8-) :y :y
Hope you have a long, enjoyable association with the MV6 :y

Have to agree there Zulu, Chin Chin, or should that be Gin Gin? ;)

Yup, prefer my old 3.0 MV6 to my new 3.2 MV6...But it is growing on me :y Times had to change though.

The new one does handle better though....should be better still with new rear bushes and the geometry done :y
The leather I am ok with....the rest of the family arnt so sure,
I am big and well planted in my seat. She slides a bit, and the kids seat rock a bit through corners......but they have just been conditioned.
-
meanwhile i've to grind my teeth in a diesel spew-joe 406(for no sex).....patience......patience........ ;D
wife doesnt know it - but i'll be back in an elite or an mv6 soon....oh yes....mwah haha ha :y
-
I do love my MV6 :D
Snap! :D I do love the fact that I can cruise around on the motorway for over 200 miles and then still be able to have a mad 5 mins around the back roads. It does well for a barge (but the mk1 does eat it alive round the bends). It's currently on 124k and it's still lovely and smooth :y
-
The key to it is to get the Elite to the same level as the MV6, ditch the self levelling and go for a more sporty suspension (as discussed on here many times), get Tony to work his magic on the geometry and possibly look at replacing the Elite seats with MV6 ones to hold your frame in place.... or maybe even have a word with Sassanach and get the best of both worlds :y
Oh and you'll grow to love the peeling rubber coating on the door handles etc.... honest ::) ;D

Or buy an MV6 instead of an Elite in the 1st place, ::)

I'm glad you love it, you've had it that long it's like one of the family. No secret that i love mine too. Bought her as a good'n from Hotel21 & kept her in the manner to which to which she has become accustomed. Lot's of maintainance, a few sympathetic mods & plenty of polishing. The MV6's have that slight edge on handling. At the last Yorkmeet i made two trips along the B1224 that leads to the site from the York ringroad touching 130+ in 4th dropping to 90 in 3rd for the bends. First of those runs was with Ian_D riding shotgun 2nd was with the Tigger so no porkie pies!!! Equally enjoyable is cruising in comfort. You could take your Granny to church in the same car!
Jaime. Is frigging a bad word? Not to me as i'm a potty mouth but it's not break, frick or firk. To frig is to masturbate so i'll leave that decision to you!!!! ::)

Far easier to give an Elite the MV6 suspension and seats than put all the other Elite kit into an MV6. :y

I've got an elite (says MV6 on logbook - been told it was a VX mistake on f/l year (2000) they used MV6 chassis/suspension with elite spec - even though it's still got self levellers - this cannot be right can it?)
Anyway it goes round the corners like a dream. I'm not some kind of lunatic when driving but it just sticks to the road, you can throw it through roundabouts at 60 - 70 (depending on size of course). It's one of the best handling cars I've ever had (bearing in mind its size aswell) and I've driven a hell of alot of cars. i think it's the perfect compromise between speed, power, luxury, performance, economy, ease of maintenance/cost of parts etc

Unless it's an MV6 with options bought as upgrades.

Ah, that's reassuring, mine will soon be the same spec, just waiting rear mv6 springs. Thanks for posting. :y

Its the MV6 with really knackered rear bushes. Actually, thats an understatement - they are really knackered. The Elite, though, does need WIMing.
Neither are exactly 'sporty', but the elite in particular does seem to struggle to swap direction quickly.
I'm with VXL V6 - the elite needs MV6 setup. Not sure I need to go the whole hog with the seats though, as this has the later style leather :)

You learn something new every day :o :y
I may love my MV6, but not that much ;D

I was confused (in the generally accepted sense) - but all is now clear. :y

MV6/Elite crossover? Both cars are top. Lots of interesting ideas regarding beefing up the Elite's handling as they are the best specced by a country mile...or you could spec up your MV6. Mine has FULL Bose sounds & amp which involved pulling the interior to bits. While we were at it we replaced the very clean recaro fabric seats & door cards with black Recaro leather front seats, rear matching leather & doorcards. The car had cruise control fitted by Hotel21 when i bought it & i've finally found (but not yet fitted) the rear privacy blind & rear shelf with bose speaker covers. So you could go either way except one thing...not many manual 3.0 ltr Elites about!!! 8-)
-
On the facelifts you could get the Elite wit 'sports pack' which was basicaly MV6 suspension and possibly also the seats (cant recall)
-
But if it has MV6 suspension, this wouldn't include self levellers though would it?
-
Do the Recaro front seats leather or fabric have all the options the Elite ones have? :-/
-
Yes, the front seats are leather, electric adjust, heated, memory. I thought all Omega front seats were made by recaro, not just the sporty ones badged as such. The car is badged elite, I'd prefer an Elite anyway

Didnt think the MV6 seats had the 3 poition memory with mirrors memory though.

No, if you have the sports pack, you get MV6 seats, and drop the electric memory stuff (including loosing the autodip mirror)

Recaro do make many of the seat s for the Omega, but in this context, people are talking the 'recaro style' sports seats. These were not available with fully electric memory functions that the elite seats normally have.

My MV6 is pretty much Elite+Sports Pack spec. In my ownership its gone from standard (prefacelift, so just under CDX spec) MV6 spec, and added:
Rear Blind
Autodip mirror
Cruise Control
Bose
CARiN added (since removed again due to NCDR)
CCR800 (since removed due to ccrt700)
CCRT700 (since removed due to NCDR)
NCDR1500 with Colour Satnav and telematics
Heated rear seats
I've run out of things to add to it...
