Title: Work giveth & take it back!
Post by: Amigo on 01 August 2010, 00:19:00
Mondays can be iffy. Containers are on customs hold so the dreaded trailer work beckons. I was given the choice on friday, a trailer job or a container to be in Haywards Heath for 9am...which entails leaving tomorrow afternoon to beat the Monday traffic. I get paid fot it but i'm not in my own truck as it's in for test on Wednesday so i'm in the same Scania i've been in all last week Want my Volvo back!!!!
Sorry. This will mean nothing to most of you, just letting off steam so to speak! >:(

You be a brave little soldier Guy.
I'm sure the Gobstopper will be back soon enough.
Anyway won't you be able to visit your old stamping ground to take your mind off the scanny for a bit?

Volvo, Scania, I passed my test in a no syncro Commer.... ::) ::) ::)

Seen some seriously good HGV driving today though, 'Floats' in a parade in Ripon, Miss Vamps was on one :) spent about 3 hours going round some very narrow streets without any misshap, caps off to those drivers...... :y :y :y

Our company provides 5 18t rigids that get done up as floats at the Nottingham Carnival and I have done the procession twice......

The hardest thing is trying the not lose the band (playing on the back of the truck) when pulling off uphill on the route.........

Rest of its easy, just leave it idling along in 1st.......

:y I now have in my head; the cacophonous sound made when a band falls off the back of a lorry-trailer! ;D
