Title: Women's behaviour - sign of the times?
Post by: bob.dent on 27 July 2010, 11:01:41
Over recent years I've noticed that women have becoming increasingly more excessive than men. I notice in the pub's that they drink more (especially shots), smoke more and swear more and some of their converstions are enough to make a porn star blush! It's the blokes that get chatted up rather than the other way around and it's like a major competition to see who can wear the least clothes (can't complain about that one! ::)) Even at work the girls drink far more tea and coffee than the guys and also smoke twice as much.
A sign of the times or am I just getting old? :-/ ::)

Bob, I think there has been a deliberate push in that direction by the empowering brigade and it has caught on.  I find that there are quite a few aggressive female drivers on the road and you can tell they're new to it because they rarely leave themselves a way out like the more experienced blokes do!!!

Normal service will resume after a few decades of it hopefully. ;)

.....and women are far more demanding when it comes to sex too.....In the old days a man could be crap in bed .......because the women had little or nothing to compare him with.

Most girls today have lost their virginity by the time they are fifteen or sixteen.....and know what they want from sex......If a man is not familiar with the G-Spot and clitoris.....then he won't last very long with the young women of today.

Nicely put ;D :y
I think you're probably right too! They now appear to be far more sexually aggressive than I remember from my younger days.

This may be nothing, but i'm becoming aware now that dominant personality women are getting more and more prevolent, and aggressive behaviour in women is getting more prominent in the business environment.

even female rep's are getting more "pushy" and using the fact they are female to get one over the male reps.......

I think Bob was alluding to the 'ladettes'.....whom often seem more blokey than many chaps. :o

Personally, I like a 'gentleman' to be simply that!....I certainly don`t need the unseemly sight of would-be Vicky Pollard types; 'bigging it up' and trying to usurp the valuable place that true gentlemen occupy in our society. ;)

Largely correct Debs but not entirely - mostly referring to younger generation ladettes. However, I also notice similar behaviour of a fair few women in their 30's and 40's, but if you analyzed it deeper you'd probably find that these were women that had kids at 15 or 16 and missed out on their younger days and are now trying to make up for it big style. ::)

It's a fair enough point Bob but I would suggest that the adulation of the ‘celebrity culture' has also a case to answer.

In addition, the 'empowerment' factor also seems to be coming more to the fore where many women feel that it isn't necessary to be hooked up to the obligatory male to help then survive in today's society and to demonstrate that by being 'balls-out' in their behaviour and general attitude.

This only becomes a problem if that demonstration exceeds the social norm and, whilst it can be driven by the herd instinct, I feel it to be a largely individual choice.

I have to add that I have just been out for a jog, and a little girl aged about 6 dragged her scooter off the path to let me past! :)  She got a 'thank you' although her actions were not really necessary.

The two mums following her also moved aside, bless-um.  No big deal as 'off the path' was really nice grass playing area but I thought I'd recount it to redress the balance of the thread a bit.

Hey, don't get me wrong Chris, I wasn't sniping at the fairer sex in general, just making observations on a portion of them about changes in behaviour patterns compared to years ago. ;)

.....and women are far more demanding when it comes to sex too.....In the old days a man could be crap in bed .......because the women had little or nothing to compare him with.

Most girls today have lost their virginity by the time they are fifteen or sixteen.....and know what they want from sex......If a man is not familiar with the G-Spot and clitoris.....then he won't last very long with the young women of today.

I dont demand more sex its the men who do :P
