Anyone been on one of their courses, specifically motorcycle ones?
About a month ago, riding through 30 limit in Twyford, some plonker pulled out in front of me, it was 8pm a night, empty roads, instead of braking (which i should have done) i decided to give it a twist and get past him. Complete said over-take, straight into the path of a Policeman with a speed gun! :'( - D'oh!
So i paid the fine, submitted my license, along with a letter basically asking to do a Bike Safe course. Its been over a month, and the little Yellow ticket i was given is only valid for 2 months, so i rang today to see what the deal is.
Turns out the delay is in issuing me details for the course! 8-) - Whooo no points :D
Which means my license will stay clean! - But has anyone done one of these courses? I hope they let me do a bike specific one, rather than car, because bike course is something i really want to do.

Suggests this is the site for motorcycle courses:

But that implies there was an accident / incident, which there was not :-/

I haven't experienced that course but have done BikeSafe twice with different regions of the MET.
From the link, I think it is quite different, being angled at the 'speeding' issue. On one of my BikeSafes, we rode out 2:1 and the copper told us to ride how we normally do so my mate went off down the lanes & A roads touching something like 90mph and the mentor just kept up and watched his technique. Naturally, being conscientious, I trailed by a large margin but had to 'catch up' after getting embroiled with a car that also didn't know if he could go fast or not! :) I suspect that is not what a 'speed-remedial' course is going to tolerate!!! ;)

thats why i am hoping for a proper bike course, rather than a 'don't speed course'

But you were speeding. What else do you expect? ;)
Just sit through the BS that they will undoubtedly throw at you and adopt the motto that, if you can't be good, be careful.

I'm hoping it will be similar to bike safe, which is out on the bike giving hints and tips on riding, position in road ect. But fully expect a BS course, but at least it keeps my license clean! :)

.. and try really hard not to give it a fistfull out of the car park afterwards, obviously. That would just be rude. ;)

They didnt offer me a course and a chance to keep my licence clean when they caught me last year on the M11. I might claim for racial discrimination. :D ;D ;D
Although they might argue that being clocked doing at least 125mph and getting away with 3 points and £60 fine was a tad on the lenient side anyway. :-/ ::) ;D ;D

Did you write a groveling letter?
-
Did my grovelling at the roadside there and then Tunnie and it worked a treat tbh. The copper was a diamond geezer,he could have had me banned for a long time and we both knew it.
Since then I have tried very hard to stay under 100mph. I need my licence for getting to work and back these days so I cant afford to lose it.
Only problem is it has kind of taken the fun out of having the bike so Im considering hanging up my helmet after all these years. :(

I should have asked at the road side too, but only when i got home did i think about a course! Was expecting points, but nice surprise for the course.

Smart Ass Rob :P :P
I know my position is out on certain corners when giving it large, car is easy, but bike its harder to stay in the right position.
