Looks like a space frame special (often something like a formula Atlantic or F5000 under the skin)with a Glassfibre silhouette of an Imp/Stilletoe.

 ;D It was indeed Andy, if memory serves it also had a rear window that opened (hinged from the top) and an all alloy engine.

IIRC the Sunbeam Stiletto/Hillman Californian were the 'coupe' versions.

Had a standard one. Dreadful example. Couldn't get shot of it quick enough. :y :y

Did quite a few rallies in the passenger seat of a friends genuine ex works example fitted with a standard 1000cc ? engine. handled well but slow on hills!

Don't forget the Singer Chamois DJ - although I can't remember if this was a 'fast-back' or not :y

There was indeed a coupe version:

The Imp was a far better car than the Mini in my view. .......Shame it never really caught on... :-/ :y.

I saw a hillman powered sidecar in action at cadwell park once, it pushed its way past evey thing, including z900 kawasaki powered side car.

Got some pictures of the unit and the engine some where.

I remember that several kit cars had imp engines,clan crusader and davrian? , the davrian was a very successful in sports car racing and could run rings around much bigger engined cars

There was also a Riley Elf, that looked like the Imps twin  :)
