Back on-line after a serious outage on the site !!!
Major, and I mean MAJOR storm Sunday evening, elec out for 12 hours, bits of trees bown off and several 'vans/awnings damaged .... not us fortunately. We were up in the village at a "fete de maison" when the rain started ... less than 5 minutes to get back to the 'van and we were wet through even to underwear !!! Trainers still not dry yet !!! Not seen rain like it since a typhoon in the far east.
Today totally different .. sun back out, temp back up ... and the beer is still cold .. :)
You all have fun ...
:)
-
You too E. Glad you all weathered the storm :y
Here's one to calm the evening for you both;

Hey Entwood - I'm just back from a 2 week break in Burgandy.
If you can get the chance, take a run along the A40 - "The White Motorway" - to Geneva. What a run!!!
Scared the pants off me :D
-
We is home .. :)
Photo's to follow once I download them off the cameras .. but some statistics ...
Miles travelled 1989 of which 1277 were towing a heavy :) caravan
Actual LPG Used 589.63 litres at a total cost of £372.42 = 18.72 pence/mile
Estimated petrol off the computor 98.2 galls (445.82 litres) at a cost of £579.43 = 29.13 pence/mile
Saving £207.01 = 10.41 pence/mile = 35.7%. All conversions done at €1.18 = £1 - I can't be bothered to do each transaction individually!!
Fuel prices in France fluctuated wildly .. cheapest GPL was €0:68.7 (58.22p) most expensive was €0:82.0 (69.49p). Cheapest petrol was £1:15.2 most expensive £1:25.4 Prices on Toll roads way higher than hypermarkets, but access with the van on the back made hypermarkets unuseable.. as anyone who has been to a French hypermarket fuel station will remember !
Toll fees paid £98.47 in total but to go off toll roads would have been only an extra 102 miles BUT an extra 7 1/2 hours !!! driving according to Via Michelin !!! Given that time difference my MPG would probably have been appalling ! So we opted to pay !!
:)

Sounds like you had a good time mate, look forward to the pictures :y :y

Well, has the Top gear Motorhome conversion got a toilet?

right decision mate, the van would have been wrecked inside had you not done the toll roads, we tried it once the non toll roads are like something out of the blitz!!! absolutely awful condition!!

So pictures then?

Pictures will be done tomorrow I hope ... and the EML did not come on at all ... much to my surprise. Took the maxscan just in case (and the spare CS) but the only time the bonnet needed lifting was to adjust the headlights :) ( it did get lifted on other occasions but then SWTSMBO says I check things too often !)

Pictures as promised .. but only a few ... :)
We could see the rain coming ....
