On my new and mint Omega, and while it was parked on my drive..... >:( >:( :'( :'( :'( :'(
Layabout stepson (Not Master Vamps) bashed it with his scooter, great big dent between the fuel filler and rear light, with what looks like a long scratch and a smaller scratch NOT HAPPY >:( >:But it was me that got shouted at by swmbo ::) ::) cos it was an accident and he has offered to pay for it. I told him it was going to cost hundreds, and would be claiming on his insurance, but on re looking it might push out and the scrape may not be as bad as first thought, cant feel it. Get my Gas filler fitted and get it professionally painted and he can pay for it.... Need a proper look in daylight and a quote from our local body shop, main Ford dealer and rather expensive, but do a first class job :)

Not good :'( :'( :'(
Mind you, if you're planning to fit the LPG filler in the rear wing you will get a little bit of deformation in the shape anyway. I would advise against getting the filler sprayed... Unless they do a really good job the paint will start to flake and look a right muggers buddle ;) ;)
-
Sorry to hear that Mike :( Depending on the size & position of said 'ding' it may be masked/removed when the lpg filler is fitted (the filler hole is 70mm + approx. 5mm extra all round? You may also be able to rub down the scratches & 'feather in' the colour & laquer coat as long as they are not right through the paint. :y

Plenty of plasticizer, and it should be ok for a good while. :y Just an absolute pain in the arse to flat/polish the clear coat.

Mine is primed with several coats of 'Plastikote' base Paul, & then several layers of topcoat and laquer, so the jobs a good 'un though I say so myself ;D :y

What a bummer ... sorry to hear the news :(
Why is it that carelessness/lack of thought/rushing is now described as "an accident" ??? Will folks not admit they got it wrong ???
Definition of "accident" is an "unidentifiable, unexpected, and unusual" .. hitting a stationary object as you pass it fulfills none of those criteria .. :(
Tell your SWTSMBO she's wrong .. it was NOT an accident .. it was carelessness.
:(

I want the ding removed professionally, I think this will be able to be done with the heat up and cool down or is it cool and then heat, which ever way round it is ::) ::) I was thinking of getting the marks above the front numper plate sorted out, depending on the cost :-/so I will pop down the bodyshop tomorrow... ::) ::)

Unfortunately Entwood, it is never that simple where Stepchildren are involved as I know only too well having helped bring up two stepsons myself! It doesn't matter if they are in the wrong, their mother is biologically programmed to 'protect' them >:(

Absolutely, though thoughtless / lack of concentration / mind on everything else except what he was doing, and I bet he was not thinking about getting a Job :-X He said that he 'swung the scooter round' going backwards, past Master Vamps car then forgetting my car was behind. The car was in the drive before he came home, there is always a car there if I am home, usually the Citroen :-X :-X

Mike , Im sure there will be one of those Mobile smart repair out fits near you, they usually do relatively minor repairs such as yours a lot cheaper than body shops, and ime you cant see where theyve been when its finished.
Btw - agree he should pay for it ,regardless of wether its a total stranger or a close relative.Everyone needs to learn (for their own good) to hold their hands up, say sorry and take responsibility for their own actions imo. :y

A good friend of mine works for 'Chips-Away' here in Bristol. They have plenty of kit, but being a franchise, it's hit-or-miss on the skills and abilities of the person local to you. :(

It is interesting, the relationships within a second marriage, would you feel the same if it was your own son that caused the damage? Koz step son will be watching when that happens, and it will happen. And you better be seen to be fair......difficult situation.....but I'm sure he didn't mean to do it, when is a teenager ever awake anyway?

Got 3 stepsons and Miss Vamps. 2 of the boys the elder and youngest are fine, middle one has been a pain, I will not way what I really think :-X His Mum was going to kick him out when he got to 16 but he has managed to get to 20. >:( No Job, can't keep a job, can't be bothered to get up to go, I have to subsidise him by feeding and providing accommodation, his biological father, a very wealthy man will not contribute anything and has not since he was 16, tis a loooong story
>:(
To be honest, if there were no Miss Vamps I would have walked a long time ago, and this would be nothing to do with swmbo, though at times I do feel 'conned'... ::) ::) ::)

He is an angry young man, he was angry when I first met him aged 7, he has a lot of issues which I feel are around his Dad. Appropriate help has been given over the years, but some things you have to find out for yourself. These issues remain today, and I mean today as he refused to be 'in' when his dad rang and a little later called with his birthday card with £50 in it, which did not help. :(
Neither he or Master Vamps have had contact with their father for many months, and do not want it, it does get very complicated, but all I say to them is that they are old enough to make their own choices, if they do not want to be 'in' when he calls then sobeit, even Miss Vamps knows what to say if she answers the phone, sad really.. :(
Their father is a Director of a very successful furniture company, and so smarmy it make your skin crawl, even is own brother detests him.
This is no quick story, sorry, only touched the surface.. ::) ::)

Well it's in for the bodywork to be sorted ::) left it there for a while, he has squeezed it in, and we are down at the caravan (Static) now anyway, so no rush for the car.
While they have it they are going to tidy a couple of marks on the front bumper.... :y
