Title: car tax prob, selling
Post by: omegod on 21 August 2010, 12:41:18
Just realised that the 206 I am selling is registered as disabled on the log book, how am I going to sort this with the new owner? It is not taxed at the moment but would they be able to tax it with the new owner supplement at the postie?

They can change it by sending it off or going to the local DVLA office. They will issue RFL under the normal band and change the taxation class at the same time :y

Needs to be taxed either via post to DVLA or in person at your nearest LVLO.  The Post Office, as I recall, cannot assist as it requires a change of tax class....

yeah just pop along to you nearest lvlo office and they will change it over there and then for you and let you tax the vehicle....I did it last year with my 5 series which had disabled road tax on it....It took approx 2hrs due to the amount of people in the bham lvlo office..... :y

weve had to do that in the past, at the Chester office whic is local for me.

Take EVERY possible document and form of ID, they can be very pedantic.

there is no parking nearby, but just down sealand road are a few carparks just a short walk away
