Title: Mary Bale
Post by: feeutfo on 25 August 2010, 23:38:46
Power of the internet, woman named and shamed...
http://thelede.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/08/25/hounded-online-and-in-person-woman-apologizes-for-abusing-cat/

....clearly a most unpleasant individual, but I have to say I've seen worse cases on the Internet while googling this after seeing it on the news, yet they don't make national headlines. Although if it was my cat I would be fairly livid.

Woman now has a police escort. She thought it would be funny and a joke to drop the cat in the bin, even looks at the CCTV camera just prior.

Animal cruelty is just bang out of order, not seem so funny if she was locked in a wheelie bin covered in her own mess >:( >:(

.......and we now have to waste break knows how much taxpayers money for her to have police protection, and she wont speak on camera probably because Max Clifford has negotiated an exclusive with one of the red tops for a huge fee.
Its a funny old world really. ::)

some suggest that it may not be so cruel if the cat was unpleasant, if that cat scratched peoples legs for example...

....so, Bale can be shot at dawn then, sorted! :y

my neighbours cat keeps shittin outside my flat door, sits on my bonnet and has left loads of scratches, ive told her about it, she dont seem bothered so i told her of the rules that forbids cats in the flats, she still dont care, which she will regret. she could find it hanging from the balcony one day  :)

Some perspective needed here guys. The ugly mare put a cat in a wheelie bin.....hardly the crime of the century but perhaps a little unwise  (CCTV everywhere) ::) ::) ;) Only in Britain would this make front page news. Other countries have far more important things to get worked up about....Pakistan.....Haiti.....Palestine.....anyone..

It's strange how attitudes have changed Zulu. I feel sure that in the sixties ......it was still legal  ::) ::) to shove a banger up a cat's arse on Bonfire night.......Oh what fun we all had in those carefree days.... ;)

its the coverage thats the issue, if it was some long legged blond i bet we would never hear of it as blondes can do as they like and getaway with it with a flerty smile, but some grumpy old bag, as she surely is, everyong gets on the case, but how the hell has it got on the news?

Death threats is how, hope your cat in the flat is not on cctv when you catch it Ritchie, the tax payer will foot the bill,  and you'll be on the news by the looks.

Perspective eh.....?

That is an important point Chris.  Aside from this issue, it seems that the notion of an individual having the right to privacy has been well and truly knocked into a cocked hat.

As you rightly say - such is the power of the internet, mobile communications and MSM/broadcast news eager to fill pages/airtime, it seems that our every move will be liable to scrutiny from here on in.

they wont put cameras up, says its a violation of residents privacy, yet the traffic camera has had complaints of being directed at peoples windows and spun round to the pubs windows for days on end

So the recycling police can make sure people don't put things in the wrong bin.
No doubt this woman will be sentenced for not knowing that cats go in general waste not compostable. ;D

Dad's a vet so i've been bought up around all sorts of creatures. STMO, had to laugh at the Topcat/bin comment, fair go. The member who rightly commented we have bigger fish to fry, yes the world has more important issues like wars, recessions, natural disasters etc. Such issues are broadcast over & over again to the point they become tiresome. Easy to say it's only a cat unless you were said cat, would'nt be so unimportant then would it? What this frustrated old binster with cobwebs on her tuppence did was beyond reproach. Seems the police won't prosucute (CPS)? Not sure whether RSPCA will take action.
I've helped with many rescue animals over the years. Lola was rescued from abuse & neglect & was terrified of eveyone. Her new family gently regained her trust to the point she'd accept a fuss from a stranger just for this to happen. I'd happily throw that pig ugly old bint into a skip & see what she made of that. She should be deported. >:(

my kids dog was a rescued dog owned by an alcoholic who used to beat it with a belt. it was so scared when we bought it and very depressed. when my x took her belt off one day it ran for cover shaking really bad.but within a couple of weeks it learnt to trust them and is happy and nowit is such a great dog. the pi$$head should of had a beating the same way in my opinion.

Not one works straight off, have to click quote and remove any tags to give the link only via the preview button, safari still won't play some so I guess they are flash based.... :-/
