Too late. Winning it already. Screen scuttles are an easy enough repair & black is easy to polish to a reasonable match. Good signs are very straight under bonnet & vinyl roof looks to be original & still good. These were the posh Crestas back in the day...Elite?? 8-)

Super car, in it's day, my mates Grandad had one.
With all your experience in restoring cars, how about some tips on rust treatment?
-
I fancy that - good luck with the bid. 8-) :y
I would imagine that the screen may have to come out to sucessfully repair the defects, all the same. :-/

There was a Vauxhall Viscount featured in a television series of the 60's/70's - either the spy or detective flavour - anyone remember what it was?

No I think you're right enough, I was stuck with Wyngarde playing Jason King in the series of that name where he did indeed drive a beautiful Bentley Continental series 2 (I think)
I forgot about him also appearing in Dept S.

I've got a price in mind & have been outbid...just so someone is pushing to see the price. I'll leave it til the end now & dive in at last knockings with my maximum bid.
I want it though. In my minds eye it's already in the workshop being fettled. 8-)

Lovely as it is i'm letting this one go. I had a figure of around £12/1300 in mind. It's nearly there, i reckon she'll fetch £15/1600 which i'm sure she's worth but i really want another old Ford so i'm stopping at my price. I have however bought another little classic for a grand including the tax. Totally different i know but the idea is:- Play around & enjoy it for the last of the clement weather (plenty of twisty b roads here), i've got thinners & hardner left from spraying the Rover & having hardly any panels can buy the paint for £70, sell on next spring for at least 2k....Cortina time!!

I know it's a rubber bumper model but if not convinced look at the prices of others & what the seller has spent in parts & labour, i'm getting the car for peanuts. Ins. forroy still running so swap over & picking her up on saturday.

You don't have to fit two. But I suspect with the engine options available you won't get any complaints either way until you get the arse-end out.

Yes please................about the only "kit car" with the exception of the Sei westfield I'd have.
(used to have a Tiger caterham copy....kept it a week, totally rubbish. the original builder must have had pebbles for glasses and pidgeon crap for welds with tape joints on the wiring........scary.)

Do I ever Pete ;D. There were some great tv shows back then and thanks to ITV4 (never thought I would be saying those words) we can see them once again. :y

Mind you there was one series that for me at least epitomised the style and verve of the 60's; :-* :-* :-* 8-) :y

There you have it. A kit car is as good as the guy who built it.
I was looking at a classic example yesterday with my MOT tester (killing time - machine allots him 45 minutes and it takes him 15 minutes to go over my car). ;D
Owner was quite tall so he'd cut a big hole in the rear bulkhead and moved the seat back. So, his @rse is now separated by a bit of fabric and some springs from the rear axle and the tarmac. The trailing end of the seat belt was dangling around by the diff input flange and UJ. Would have made his eyes water when, inevitably, it decided to wrap itself round the propshaft and tighten. :o
