Title: Paper Driving Licences ???
Post by: 24_Valve on 01 September 2010, 01:35:15
Am I the only driver in the UK that still has an ordinary paper licence? everyone seems to have the new style photo card  licences with paper part. Even old people that have been driving before I was born have plastic fantastic licences? Why pay good money for a plastic card when you can keep your real one... anyone else got a real one ::)

I`m still on green-paper; although I dread moving house, as I`ll be forced to change to a plastic. ;)

I put my brain age down, but still act younger than that.

Admin recenvently had me down as a 69 year old, I am in fact 50 next year and have no problems with it as it is just a number.

i still have a paper license, although its a bit worse for wear as is a doodle pad for the courts. im not keen on the idea of renewing it every 10 years at a ridiculous cost and, furthermore, once you send off for a plastic fantastic job some of the items on your original paper license maybe be 're-evaluated' and mysteriously disappear...

Still using a paper one , and as it's nicely tucked away in a plastic cover it's as good as new , only a matter of time before we're all forced to go plastic though >:( >:(

If you send the old licence in there is no fee for a plastic one.

I passed my PSV in '98 so i got the plastic pretty early on

No real bother to be honest,£20 every 10 years for a new photo is not exactly bank breaking

Handy when you need photographic I.D. for things,as i carry it in my wallet...dont carry a passport around

I had a paper licence until i applied for a driving card for work, i now have a plastic licence.

I think i can afford a pound a year for renewal :D

The plastice one comes in very useful when i need to show my ID :y

What is a licence? Never bothered myself. Insurance is easy got around by using 'The boys' numberplates and as for photo's, they can see me any month on crimewatch.

Sorted.

I've got one too. But unfortunately I moved house in the late nineties and they replaced my nice green one with a pink one.
