The disability / singing /dancing group my other half is involved with approached me to design them a website.
Never having touched HTML before, I took it as a nice learning opportunity.
Been interesting and frustrating as hell at times, but have finally got it up and running.
http://buzz-ah.co.uk
seems to take some time before http://www.buzz-ah.co.uk becomes visible too, but am assured it may take up to 48 hours.
I quite happy with it for a 1st attempt, and have enjoyed doing it. Just needs publishing to the group now so it can become known, and then hopefully start getting into search engine results etc.

Works ok for me .. nice and readable as well :y :y :y :y

Thanks, probably the main design point given some of the target audience.

Looks good on Firefox JB.
If you don't want too much spam you might like to look into using FormMail or similar to prevent your email address being scavenged by every merciless Tom, Dick and Harry.
You can also feed the search engines directly via certain sites. Getting friendly existing sites to add links to yours speeds up the process as well.
Well done.

not a bad idea, hadn't considered that, will look into it :y
-
Looks good JB :y I always tend to overthink them when I design a site and, therefore, over complicate them but that is just about right. :y
-
Congrats Mr JB.....looks like a professional job to me... :y :y
-
Excellent job Jimbob! The blue text especially makes for easy reading. Well laid out & easy to navigate around the site. :y
-
That site looks very good JB, and what makes is so is the ease of use along with the right font being used 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)
-
Agree with all the above, keep thinking I'd like to try and build a website sometime.
-
Well done Jb 8-) - the image gallery is particularly interesting.
To see the look of excitement and joy on the faces of those participating is heart-warming and indeed humbling.
I've no doubt that your design will help publicize the important work the group is doing.
Not only you, but all those in Buzz-AH should be proud of what has been achieved here.

thanks all, can really recommend www.w3schools.com for anyone wanting to learn :y

Very impressed JB, and good luck to the group who look as though they are doing a first class job. :y :y :y

yup, tested with my address before going live :y
-
:y Very nice coding and well implemented style sheet; .....over-finicky Deb. spotted the 't' missing in Flintshire in the keywords when viewing the page source.
You might like to add a meta description in the head.....it might help with getting Googled. ;)
-
cheers Debs, thats what I call testing :y
-
Good job to JB :y
As the site grows, look into what technlogies your host offers, and look at server side includes or other dynamic-ish technologies.
Probably not worth the hassles/inflexibility of full blown CMS yet
Some search engines use metadata, Google doesn't (though does display it if it has one).

Looks good JB, first class and a noble cause :y

Sitemap wont be needed for a simple, static site like that JB, though the webmaster tools are handy for seeing what searches are causing clickthroughs etc...
