Next time you go to ATS for tyres, dont be surprised if the staff are a bit off. They've just had their final salary scheme scrapped by Michelin. If they tried that at home (in France) there'd be blue murder and all the ports would be blockaded. >:(

Next time :-?
Unfortunately that's happening to a lot of companies, I fear we'll be next :(

I found the best way to upset the manager at ATS is to buy some cheap tyres off the internet then ask ATS to fit them. ;D Works every time, they really hate that.

Don't talk to me about Tupe
Company A Tuped me to IBM,
Company A merged with company B
Company AB didn't like Outsourcing...
So Tupe'd us back in again!
Despite being told me were going into a better pension scheme each time, We all still lost a considerable amount of pensionable service, am still on Final Salary though :)
Ive had the same desk for 11 years, but worked for 5 companies!

One of my main customers just out-sourced all its IT and TUPEd all their IT staff to the IT support company... which created some funny situations.
My contact was transferred to this international IT company after 18 years in the factory, and when the first salary failed to arrive he called the HR department of his new company which is based in the U.S. and was told that they where having problem with processing the salaries because they have just out-sourced the salaries to a company in India... the guy has been working in Kent for 18 years and is now being told that some guy in another continent out-sourced his salary to someone in yet another continent... this is crazy.
