My laptop will not connect to the Internet..... :'( :'(
Signal is good, swmbo is using hers, mine shows a signal but will not connect. I have done a few restarts and it goes to BT openzone, change it to ours, press connect and after a while of searching no connection..any thoughts, simply please.... :-[ :-[
Using my dongle and working fine.... ::) ::) ::)

Check you have correct WEP / WPA password.
Also check your IP settings are set to Obtain automatically.

Also try turning router off for 10 seconds, then back on again :y

It is doing that, and router is working OK
Think this laptop needs a bloomin good sort out, running very slow on start up and connecting anyway... ::) ::)

The Missus has probably blocked your laptop on the Router. ;D
Anyway.
Try a static IP,
Check FireWall Settings,
Other than that, it's technical stuff.

I've met a couple of Vista computers of late that will not show internet on IE. You can go to CMD and ping any website successfully but no amount of playing will get IE (or Safari either in one case) to display web pages.
A complete re-install may have to follow.

Check the WEP/WPA settings definate first port of call...
Then check the router wireless access list (assuming it is enabled)...
