My very first cambelt change   :)

I started last night and soon had it stripped back and ready for the belt but I came across a problem that wasn't on the cambelt change CD. Cams 3 and 4 were spot on but cams 1 and 2 were about 10mm to advanced and I didn't have a clue what to do so a quick PM to Mark DTM (thanks Mark)and it was sorted. So this morning I pulled the old belt off and went to put the new belt on and there were no timing marks on the belt  :'( so I had to mark the new belt from the old belt. Anyway apart from a small airleak from a cracked pipe at the rear of the plenum the old girl is running well :y

I would like to the Dave C for the loan of the cam locking kit Cheers Dave :y

I agree  :y , this forum has helped me and without the 'howtos' would never of attempted the cam cover gasket or disks/pads change.

Plus a lot of the chat has either put me right or understand my omega better  :y

Ive built up enough courage to have a go at the exhaust manifold...probably next week now...as im using my Omega this weekend.....rented the VeccyC out for the weekend.

So well done everyone  :y
