Its not a post count limit on buying or selling as such its for posting in that section. If you want to buy something off a member send them a PM much like uou would if buying from ebay, autotrader or any other form of classified.

what I was asking was I understand why you need to protect people against fly by nights who have no history here, when selling things, but as a buyer ...

what I meant was it should be possible to stop any new people starting for sale threads,
but anyone should be able to respond.

They can .. only limit is on STARTING an advert .. no limit on responses .. :)

If you were to respond now, to an open thread, not a locked one, your response would appear. No-one can respond to a locked thread.. :)

The problem is that people take the piss and when they can respond to the for sale ads they add things like "i have one here mate or give me a shout" when they only have a couple of posts.

Rules is rules and are there to protect both buyers and sellers alike. If you need a part place a Wanted Ad in the test zone and ask a MOD nicely to move it :y

Is that not because the poster started the thread and JB moved it :-? not that im that bothered ive got plenty enough posts anyway and at least scimmy_man is three four posts closer now ;D ;D ;D

Think the lack of reply button is todo with the 250 limit i know things have been tightened up a bit recently :y

A few of you are a little out of date..

To Start or Reply in the sales areas you need to have 250 posts OR be the original poster( for the case of wanted ad's moved from test)

We are not a free sales site.

There is nothing to stop people pm'ing sellers to deal.

This was put in place as lots of sellers with insufficient count would just reply to other peoples posts to sell there wares.

Apologies to scimmy_man ....  I didn't realise things had changed.

Best to PM the seller next time as Jimbob says.
