Tony Curtis, what a sad day :'(
-
Yep. totally agree. Yes, he had his problems with drink and drugs, but what a multi-skilled actor! probably one of the few that did films, theatre, and tv programmes in his career.
Apparently a skilled painter selling for thousands a picture too................
We've lost one of the "old guard" and he will be missed. liked him in the Persuaders, Spartacus, and "Some like it hot".
Roger Moore is said to be "deeply upset" . Not surprised.

Indeed so Pete.
Many will smile when they recall his role in some comedy greats. 8-) :y

First I have heard about him.
Sad day, RIP

I remember when I was a teenager, every lad wanted a 'Tony Curtis' haircut.
RIP.

Sad loss, I can't believe he was never awarded an Oscar :-/

As a young teenager I loved this, and we got our first colour TV when this was on adding to the enjoyment... :D :D
A sad loss.... :(

Remember him and roger moore in the persuaders as a kid which I used to love but tbh think he wasted his talent-though he led an eventful life! He was good in Some Like It Hot, excellent with Burt Lancaster in The Sweet Smell Of Success , watchable in The Vikings but the last decent thing he did was probably The Boston Strangler. Still, R.I.P. as they say, he was one of the last true movie stars of the old school.

Tony Curtis, what a sad day :'(
? why - i'd be happy to live to half his age & twice the pussy...
.. or is it the other way round ?
-
"I wouldn't be caught dead marrying a woman old enough to be my wife." ;D ;D :y
great quote which I hadn't heard 'til last night on the news - cool guy, interesting life :y
-
Totally BTW, but Google "Tony Curtis Paintings".............
Actually quite a talent if you can "see" what he is trying to achieve in his work.
"Im' SPARTACUS!"..........will always remember him in the scene from that film when he tries to take the pain of crucifiction away from Kirk Douglas (the real spartacus) by claiming it is really him, and then loads of his men stand up and claim to be spartacus too. The camera pans to Kirk douglas with tears in his eyes.......
Powerful stuff. (why was he never awarded an oscar?)

totally agree will be sadly missed loved the films/prorames mentioned also'' the vikings '' :y :( :y
-
Yes it is sad news, another of the Screen Idols I grew up watching has gone, soon to be joined by another it appears? as it looks like Michael Douglas is a lot sicker than we were led to believe :(
-
Always sad when someone passes on....but I have to admit, I was not keen on him. Always struck me as 'smarmy'
But thoughts are with his family :y
