Would you use Ferodo brake pads on your Omega, or would you buy them from Vx.
Just wondered as I can get them with my Halfords Trade Card.
Opinions welcomed.
-
How much are they compared to Vx TC price?

Dunno, haven't priced them yet at Halfords, but then I haven't got a Vx TC card.
Was just putting the feelers out.

Just fitted some to the front of mine about 10 days ago, seem ok to me but i do believe Ferodo do two alternatives, one being a cheaper version. I went for the more expensive ones, dunno what the difference is, probably last another 100 miles

Considering I pay under £15 for a set of brake pads from Vx I will stick with them. :)
Oh, and they are the ones the all knowing one recommends! ;)

I think vx ones are about 25 squidish AA, without TC card
I must admit i keep buying them from vx dealer, plus it saves an extra trip, coz its always worth buying pad sensor as well...as they get brittle and can easily snap when removing...bout 12 squidish iirc

VX do a front brake repair kit discs and pads 66 quid + vat t.c.

The Ferodo might be OK, used to be a good name. I always prefer to use genuine brake parts though, my Elite came fitted with PowerStop pads, I made a journey up the M1 and came off at J26, braking downhill to the roundabout (auto box) at the next mini roundabout, about 500yds away, I had a hard brake pedal but no brakes. Couldnt find anything wrong with servo or vacuum so did a test, braking hard from 70mph to 30, then tried brakes again.....no brakes.
Fitted Vx pads and have more progressive braking, better 'bite' and no fade problems, even when lugging a 1300kg 'van around.

My special offer pads & discs from Autovaux are fine

I have mintex pads fitted to mine and ive had no problems even towing the van and braking hard from 110 racing and just about beating a diesel 320 BMW :o

Hi,
You might want to visit one of the official website of Ferodo (http://www.thepartsbin.com/brands/ferodo.html) for some information that might help you to address your problem.
