Well I finally made it, 5 hours of sheer hell. Heavy rain = Heavy spray + the police closed the M4 between J15 and 14 for some reason,Police incident!.
The division that the police advised ,was a nightmare,we were moving  mere yards at a time, and we were the ones that were actually moving, those who were stuck on the motorway when the police shut it,were the the  ones that were  stuffed, from 7.30 to13.30 they were left to fend for themselves.
We were lucky that the motorway was reopened by the time that we had to return, same shitty weather thro.

Motorway was closed 13-15 from 08:00 - 12:00.

Some bloke was arrested under the Mental Health Act after strolling along the carriageway, apparently.

And other news about the M4.  That bloody Bus Lane is going to be scrapped, finally.  Christmas time to Olympics it is 'suspended', then Cameron tells us he will kill it for good.

God Bless the Tories.

I saw the same Cresta (probably) on the M4 a couple of months ago, in Convoy (I assume) with a Victor 101.  I think it was around the Swindon junctions.

I dont like Blair, but in his defence, it was that fat idiot Prescott who gave it the thumbs up.

You know, that lane is over 10 years old now.  I bet the Tarmac is the best in the land.  Bugger all has ever driven over it.

I wish this forum would stop modifying my words.  ;D  Since when did 'thingy' sound anything like idiot?

Ummm.....Let me guess....Off at 15....then to Marlborough.....then Hungerford????

Should have asked a Taxi Driver  ;D ;D

I went to Marlborough and back during the 'diversion'.....25 mins each way, using the country lanes:y  (tho good job I had a group of young lads on board, as I doubt passengers more mature would have appreciated me doing 60-70mph on the straights  ;D )  (usually can do it in 20mins each way using the main roads with a clear run)

Altho if id been heading towards jn14, id have gone Liddington, then Aldbourne.....lovely fast country lanes (easy to keep up 60-70mph most of the way  ;) )

Hello Taxi Driver,Local knowledge is better than sat nav. As it turned out my sons flight was delayed for 2 hours in paris,2 hours sat on the runway because there was not any space to park at Heathrow.

If you set sat nav to the shortest route to heathrow, it wont take you on the m4  ;)
