went round omega steves to pick my exaust up, in excellent condition for 70 squids. got the car up on ramps, bolts totally mangled up, took it to place to sort out and left it till in morning, waited nearly 40 mins for a bloody bus, no coat, just a t shirt and nowhere to get out the rain. absolutely soaked through. is 100 quid a fair price to cut bolts and redrill to fit to cats which he said he has to take off to drill bolts out

Yeh if he's on fifty an hour ::)
As for buses, the last one i caught was in 1978 ;D

A hundred quid sounds like a lot of money for drilling out 4 bolts to me. I bought a few new drill bits and did it myself. ;)
I must admit, it is a pita job to do though.
-
i dont think anyone should try to undo the cat to exhaust bolts unless they have plenty of heat, undersized socket belted on and an air gun used gingerly..
-
Ive done it twice now, and each time it didnt matter what method I tried, the bolts wrung off anyway and had to be drilled out.
-
i couldnt get it up high enough to move my arms about and it was p'ing down. i looked like i just got out the bath with me clothes on ;D ;D

i only charge 30 for fitting an internal door, he'll probably be quicker than me too

On elites just raise the self levelling to max, no Jack required. I did actually manage to get 3 of the bolts out by turning the nut back an forth to clear the threads. The first one, which I learnt on, had to be drilled. >:(

40 minutes for a bus isnt too bad imo. Where I live there is only one bus per week. Tues. morning at around 10.a.m. iirc. :)

What, return in a week? :o ;)

That sounds rather dear to me Ritchie :o
An hour is enough time for any garage to remove the exhaust, replace the broken bolts in my opinion. But the prices down the Smoke are rather excessive :(
