i recently won these on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=019&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=290105346500&rd=1&rd=1
when i put them on my elite will the insurance premium increase when i renew the insurance (admiral) now that i have upgraded alloys?.
-
Probably.

Its the general stealability of the vehicle that increases the insurance rating, generally, not the different alloys and their effect on handling as most Omega's had alloys as standard anyway. I would certainly recommend advising the InsCo of the change as if you have an accident at sonme future time and an assessor sees the non standard alloys then that is a potential get out clause for the InsCo.

ps - are the alloys as clean and dent free as they appear in the piccy's??
-
i myself wouldn't allow the policy to increase!!!!!!! ... i used to be under writer for car insurance for guardian royal now AXA as its known.......
the reason being this ........ and make sure you make this clear when calling them.
the elite came with alloy wheels as standard if im correct...... but MV6 wheels im sure could of been an option when new if the guy had wanted them he could of simply paid for the option...
which makes them standard equipment.!!!! :P
they are NOT aftermarket alloy wheels and ARE infact Original vauxhall equipment........ the insurance company need not even know about it......... unless you told them you had steel wheels...... if they got stolen or if you crashed it and some of the wheels got damaged they would replace them as they are original equipment ........
By all means let them know it has alloys on BUT dont let them charge you extra for them as they ARE ORIGINAL Vauxhall NOT AFTERMARKET ALLOY WHEELS!!! :y

i am going to inform the insurance company of the change (still not got tyres yet),to be honest the alloys at the back are not as good as the ones at the front, but overall i am pleased with them, should look good when fitted with this,
