after winning a brand new alloy wheel off ebay very cheap, i send payment, then follow it with a message saying payment has been sent and can i have the address for collection (not too far from me which is nice), but i get no reply whatsoever and within an hour it's relisted with a higher starting bid!
absolute pain, but his 100% feedback will take a hit if i dont get this wheel!!

If you manage to get his address, Danny, make sure his nose takes a hit as well.

Maybe he has more than one wheel ::)
-
already found him on facebook :y
-
Wot a bummer!!
Inform e-bay too, they can remove the re-listing and make him reconsider.
Ratbag............he can't actually do that, and e-bay should have spotted it was won on the previous auction!

More than one wheel??? More than one wheel?????????!!!!
Hmmmm........he may have more than one wheel Danny. ;D

the power of the all seeing tinternet :o
-
where is your money now then??
-
when you pay him, doesnt it give you the address?
-
its obvious he doesn't have more than one wheel, otherwise he'd have let me have one of them if he was genuine! he listed after telling me he'd sold one to someone else, so i'm entitled to one he still has at the price i paid.
the starting bid is 5 times what i won the original one for, i got it extremely cheap but thats not my issue (he hasnt refunded me yet)
upon payment, he got my address, the seller's address isnt shown, tho i have asked for it anyway for collection and he obviously wont give it to me now

Go to the e-bay Resolution Centre & see what to do next :y

So....every time he lists the wheel, buy it, then tell him to break off when he asks for payment. ;D

There are alot of people out there that will mess you about. I had two people ask me to do cambelts last week so I ordered the parts from Buypartsby and they didn't show up, the end result is i'm £30 out of pocket due to postal charges >:(

<threadjack> Parts weren't for a 3.2 were they? I'm contemplating getting the cambelt done (and/or doing it myself) as although it's ticked as being done at 82k, I don't trust service records as far as I can throw them ;D If you still have the parts, perhaps we can cover that £30 ;) </threadjack>

Ask which option he wants to go with, paying you back your money, or a report to the Police for a fraud, then courts, and him having to pay more than the wheels worth ?.
Then you email him 24hrs later if he doesn't respond, and tell him that you've reported it to the Police, given them copies of the transaction as proof that he's obtained money by deception, so he had a choice, and has now indicated which he's going with. Then actually go and report it to the police, get a crime number, then go back to ebay, report it to them. And if he threatens you via text / mail, just keep it for proof (ammunition against him). :-?

I would have thought that the easiest thing to do was to raise a dispute using the eBay system - (after the requisite time interval).
-
If you planned to collect why pay before collection?

If you planned to collect why pay before collection?
he completely ignored my message asking what payment he'd prefer, and went ahead to relist it, and since i had funds in my paypal i decided to pay to "confirm i'd bought it" if you will
anyway the update, he messaged me to say he sold the alloy elsewhere for £100 and i would be refunded, so i replied "basically you didnt like how cheap it sold for so you lied to me to avoid selling it and relisted it higher like you should have done in the first place, you'll be reported to ebay and get negative feedback as a result"
he ignored me, so i messaged him through the new listing and said "how about since you made £100 on the other wheel i won, why not give me this for what i paid you, and we say no more about it and i leave you positive feedback as if there were no issue?"
he said "how about no, leave me neg feedback and see if i give a f**k"
i have my refund, he has his negative feedback, he has had his listing removed and has been reported to ebay
tragically this is a more common occurrence for many on ebay, luckily for me its a rarity

Thankfully you haven't lost out but its so annoying being messed around. :y

That doesn't work very well when 'most' of the people (certainly in the UK) are on non-fixed IP addresses, though.. you just end up with a whole lot of innocent people randomly being clobbered.
Stone him, instead, I say.

he still has his teeth because he also has my address, its not worth the hassle but had it been a larger amount of money and no refund, i'd have been taking steps to find out where he lives

Word of warning if you are thinking of getting a garage to do it AVOID great hollands auto centre as they cant be trusted to fix a wheel barrow..... I know from past experiance >:( >:( >:(
-
Warning gladly received ;) Though I wouldn't get a garage to do it - either one of the guys here who offer those services or I'd DIY it (probably the latter - I've done it on the Nissan's V6 twice already).. Thanks though, I'll make sure to avoid there if I do ever have to use a garage!
