If this is true (and I know many on here will be hoping it isn't), then thanks for all the help and support I have gained from you - and the laughs. I hope its because life goes on and you have other things to occupy you, and not because some wassack has upset you.

Good Luck, Pat

I'm afraid I really don't know what to say. :( :(

You know your own mind nevertheless and must therefore do what's best for you.

I will miss your technical expertise and forthright view on the way of things and even though I never had the opportunity to meet you (or any other member for that matter - and most likely never will) I will miss your presence here.

Thank you for making my membership here both an imformative and pleasureable experience.

All the very best to both you and family. 8-) :y

MARK.....

One question......WHY?

Always found you a decent bloke, not easily upset, and knowledgeable.

If this isn't some kind of wind-up. I sincerely wish you all the best possible.

Many Thanks for all your advice.

Warm Regards,

Mike. :y

I really appreciate the help you've given me in the past and if you're ok with it, I'll give you a shout if I'm in the Nottingham area and we'll have a beer or ten........ again! ::) :y Otherwise, would be great to see you at one of the big meets i.e. Newent 2011 if you're up for it.

You'll be greatly missed.  It's not just the car knowledge, it's the general technological expertise we'll miss.  You've helped me with my amplifier, dishwasher and PC as well as the car.

Before you go, can you help with my memory? :) :) :)

I really hope this is another wind up ... as if it is not, it could well spell the end of OOF as we know it.

I'm worried .. seriously worried.

If it IS true .. then I wish you "god speed" and "good luck" in anything and everything you hope for the future, and many, many thanks for everything you've done for me and everyone else on OOF in the past.

Please tell me it's a spoof ???

I would have to echo Entwood's comments, I would hope it's a spoof.
I only met Mark at Newent, and only had the chance to have a quick conversation with him. From all the comments from other members and from watching him in action at Newent I can certainly see why he's called 'The Master'.

''Mark, how do you build a nuclear reactor out of this old dustbin?''

Mark's response - ''Give me a second, I'm just finishing this 100% renewable energy source device and fitting these wishbones to another Omega, then I'll come and help you.''

If you do indeed leave, then I regret not having been able to get to know you, and I would wish you all the best.

I too can only hope this some sort wind up, if not then it will be a sad day for OOF and its members.

I have always admired your knowledge of Omega's and other cars for that matter and your prized gift of  knowledge in general (ok, so the electronics bit falls off the edge a bit but were not all perfect), you have helped endless members, including myself, within this Forum and not doubt others.

I have always considered you to be one of the main Pilots of advice on here which drives this Forum so successfully, Im sure other members will agree.

Mark, we have never met, but if you are leaving then you have your reasons, so I would like to say thank you.

Hopefully your leaving the Forum is not true, if it is then, be safe and God Speed Capt. Russell.

Chris.

To be fair to Mark, the problems started two years ago and he made a difficult decision to stick at it; the past two years have meant him giving up a lot more of his free time than he would like.
The decision to leave now is not his, it has been forced on him, he does not have a choice to keep his account open...it will be deletd by others later today.
All the best Mark, for whatever you find to do in future.

I will join you later to indulge in a gallon or two of fluid.

Thanks for all your help and work on all 3 of our Omegas, i've certainly learnt a huge amount in your presence, both in person and on the forum.

As mentioned earlier you formed a crucial part of technical advice under-pinning of this site, and your departure is going to leave some big shoes to fill.

TOLD to leave and booted out??  no, surely i'm getting the wrong end of the stick here?   Yes, its well spoken about that there can be a "clique" within OOF, but...............???

Of course, if its for family reasons, I totally understand, have been there myself.....no choice or alternative, then.

I'm guessing that it is for family reasons... He already gives a huge amount of time to his "Train Set" and, sad as I am to say it, that is something more valuable than OOF :'(

Family must come first. I have recently had to make the decision to reduce my commitments to gain more family time too... Luckily OOF wasn't one of the main contenders ;) :y

Mark, yet again I say it: Thanks again for the help and advice. Best of luck with the future and we'll hopefully see you again at some point :y :y

Hmmm, maybe I should  [smiley=evil.gif]

Nah, I wouldn't do that, I think as everyone has said Marks DTM is a key part of the setup here, and was so before we launched. He was instrumental in getting me involved in assiting to run this site, the bastard ;D

Oh, and for the record, the rumours of a big bust up between Mark and I are a rumour (started by me) in order to make an earlier piece of mischief work ::).  Your OOF Admin Team have no internal divisions/splits. I think.  Then again....

Mark - good luck with the job hunting. You are a multi faceted person with so many skills, both technical and softer, I suspect you won't find it too difficult, even in the current climate.  I know you were looking forward to a few weeks off, but know Mrs DTM boredom will find you a bathroom to retile, or another extension ;D. So you still won't have time for playing trains :P.  Of course, if you're that bored, give me a tinkle, I have a pair of front hubs.... ;D.  And a heart felt thankyou, for everything.

OMG! I thought Mark leaving was the worst news possible!, but it seems not :o
STMO has offspring!!!! :D ::) ;) ;D

Seriously Mark, now I know why they call you the 'Master'! I signed in late today & browsed my way slowly through the forum to the "My last day today" post, & I can honestly say hand on heart, I haven't felt a sense of dread so strong since some overenthusiastic git in the NHS told me I had only a short time to put my 'Affairs in order'! You bloody Wind-Up Merchant, you nearly put my recovery back by at least an Hour!!  ;D ;D ;D I'm so sorry to hear of your Redundancy, but if your Company can afford to lose a man of your Calibre, then it must be in Terminal Decline! I wont wish you luck for the future, you don't need it, you make plenty of your own  :y

I still have my ear to the ground for you Mark & if i find owt you'll be the first to know :y :y :y
I wish you all the very best in what ever path you go down & that comes from the heart (i'm not good at saying things like in person & blokes have a matcho image to uphold ;D).
If you need any help at any time with anything :y :y

You rather '&£"£$^%*)(&$""£$%&*()_*&^%$££$%*)!£^*(_)*^£"£^&)*_(*&^^%% HOLE...yeah YOU >:(!!!! I read the first few posts in disbelief, then thought it was a WIND UP, then having met you at meets & having visited your home & seen you "Daddy" mode honestly thought OOF had intruded on your home life that little bit too far & was starting to sympathize & understand. ::) Despite one minor issue ages ago it's a relief to know you're still about.
I won't wish you well in your search for employment as with your skills i'm sure you'll no problem being head hunted! Guy.

He He. ;D

All the best. Hope something new comes along soon. :y

I guess you've spent most of the day singing?

#So long and thanks for all the fish
#So sad that it should come to this
#We tried to warn you all but oh dear

#You may not share our intellect
#Which might explain your disrespect
#For all the natural wonders that grow (around you)
#So long so long and thanks for all the fish...  ;)

Redundancy - been there , done that - use it as an opportunity to move forward Mark - in the short term apply yourself to your "new" job - that is finding another one.  Good luck  :y

I was one of the first migrants over to OOF when it started, and as stunned when I saw the thread title. Glad to hear it was a "wind up" as said in Life of Brian "your a very naughty boy" >:( good look with the job hunting I'm sure it won't be to long before you get fixed up.

Well Debs it all started when the Wife asked me to drive Her to the Hospital to have a Baby. Then, seven years latter, would you believe it, She asked Me to drive the baby to school one day all because She had Flu that day!!!
