Title: What a Dilemma!!
Post by: Darth Loo-knee on 03 October 2010, 16:19:54
Mrs. Loo-knee wants to get another one of her Favourite Cars.. so we are looking for one. When one is bought, one of our His & Her Omegas will have to go.. :-[

Now my dilemma: do I keep?

Mrs' 2000 Facelift Auto 3.0 Elite Estate which is lovely, has Bilstein & Steinmetz Springs, Leather, Builtin Sat Nav and does on a run 35.4mpg??

Or my Obi, An awesome 52 plate Facelift 2.6 MV6 Manual Saloon which I have fitted a 3.0 engine plus other bits  ::) too and made it drive by wire. . . .

I know the choice is really down to me, with that in mind I would pick Obi... but then Mrs Loo-knee says the estate would be better and gives me her list, which being honest I agree with but Obi just does it for me like her estate doesn't  :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/

Have you considered an alternative solution?

Donate BOTH cars to the OOF museum (coincidentally located in my garage) so that forum members can see them in the future. ;D ;D ;D

Then you can buy whatever you want. :y

I'll gert looking immediately for a cheap flight and then we will travel here in convoy.

How about buying a Spanish car to   take back with you? They aren't cheap so bring plenty of Euros.

There is a good but 20 year old Citroen C15 van for sale for 8000 euros plus taxes. You might get it for 7500 if you barter a bit. ;D ;D ;D

I fear we'd have the same argument over here as well! If it was me i'd keep my V6 Elite saloon, if it was Jane she'd keep her DTi Estate and if I had my sensible head on i'd probably have to keep the DTi Elite saloon!

As it is I really need to find a garage close by then i'll probably SORN the V6 and we'll keep running the DTi's.

What you need is an LPG conversion on the Elite :y :y

Need to see you at Botany Bay sometime

I know i don't have a swmbo (not full time anyway) This is because i'm selfish & shallow & see choice of cars as my domain not hers. That said i accept that is just my little life & realistically MRS DLK is being quite reasonable in asking for a suitable family car. You have two Omegas & have to let one go. If you prefer Obi then sell the estate.
In my view compromise is having to let one Mig go but your choice which one. If you prefer Obi she should respect that as you respect her choice for a different car. Sounds fair to me.
P.S. What car is she after? Guy. :y

Yes I do, got the manifold drilled and tapped, just not got any further. Thing is it's just simpler to jump in the DTi!
