Okay, this piece of music has been driving me mad for ages.
Heard it in a lot of film/adverts, but can I find any info on it ?.
What's the piece is called, or who did it ?.
And now it's appeared in the Warburton bread commercial (the slow music piece of the burnt loaf) !.
Anyone music anoraks out there that can help ?.

Sorry if sound dumb here Entwood, but is "Adagio" the person who wrote it, or the 'piece of music' itself ?. As I'm after the full version of the piece if I can ?.
Cheers :y

Ahh the version that prat Tiesto copied ... I must admit Orbits version is pretty good for "modern music"
-
Yes, the Tiesto version is pretty poor!

You're only saying that to get back at LB ;D

Never heard this piece before - very sad and haunting music; might have a go at playing it on my mellotron - if I can get hold of the sheet music.
-
You occasionally hear the odd a cappella version of it too, which can be quite haunting.
Edit - meant to add, it was used in the film The Elephant Man which I think was the first time I heard it. Was in Platoon as well, I remember seeing that in a mobile cinema while on holiday in New Quay back in '87. I had hair then. And all my own teeth.
-
MF, old original , or one of the newer recreations of the Mellotron?
(wow either way,.... someone with a REAL one.... as opposed to the sample library versions)

Here's two famous faces from the past showing just what the Mellotron is and what it can do. :y

Here is one version, which I think is very well put together;

LOL ..........errrm.....it's (I'm afraid) M-tron Pro.
Some really excellent samples and I'd defy you to distinguish it from the real thing, altho some of the samples are a bit iffy - some birotron samples (one of rick wakemans failed projects) are woeful (the woodwind sample sounds like a cello).
I'd love a real one but there way too expensive - seen a couple go on ebay for around £2.5k and brand new ones are around £5k. My wife would have me sectioned if I paid that amount of money for one ;D
