Hi Folks
At this money i am watching - dont want it to go up too much - lets face it although smart looking and new and conveniant - estate its a 186k 2litre.
What would you expect the life expectancy of such an engine to be before major probs/rebuilds etc?
It may do me as a second car - short term. What do people think re valuations....i have my ideas personally but wil wait and see what the consensus is...

It's already about at the limit of what its worth, I should think. As for the mileage you have to ask yourself " Has it been serviced every 25000 with Tesco's oil, or, has it had the Laidback treatment?"
EDIT: having read more carefully,if the service history is as it states, then it really has been looked after.
-
Looks in good condition, it must have been a motorway car for that mileage.
For under 1000 at 2000 it is worth a go
-
4 under £1000 i'd ave ago
-
Worth asking the seller if its had a documented cambelt change recently
-
IMO i wouldnt bid on it unless you went and test drive it.
Petrol 2.0 with that sorta mileage, it could smoking like a gudun unless its been looked after properly.
High mileage doesnt always mean its been a 'motorway car' could have been taxi'd :-/
-
Actually it looks a lot like mine.....and ive put 30k on mine in 8 months....and thats 30k of mostly town driving...which does any car in.....so be sure it aint be used as a taxi [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

thinks thats border line m8.... facelift estate will always go for a little more, but thats over double the millage on my facelift at the same age.
Think its too high tbh, i'd wait around to find one around 100k miles...
-
At least its the later 2.0 with the balance shafts and additional improvements.
Is it me or has the tailgate had a shunt (look at the shadows around the lock panel)
-
Had a shunt. Creases to the top left/right of the lock trim. Well spotted!!
-
Thats what comes of spending your holidays at Uni valeting cars....!
-
Whatever was hit must have been quite high, though. I always thought the bumper protrudes further than the trim?
-
I did think it had a bump at rear then when i looked again i thought it was the shadows.....
I was ideally looking at this not much higher than it is ( was - havent checked it since) simply as a stopgap second car....
-
breaking news - serviced every 3ths at main dealer and used for commuting down south.
I am going to continue to watch although i think either a -someone will pay silly money or b - reserve will not be met!
-
My mates mate has got a 2.0 estate manual with 175K on the clock with numerous owners and it's still going strong (at the moment).
-
still at £670 with 4 hours to go, inevitably it will jump last minute..........hmmmm
-
Nout wrong with the 2.0 mines on 136k and seems to be going strong. :)
Looks a nice looking motor, would like a facelift eventually but for now mine does the job.
-
Not going for it now its at what i set as a limit ( £800 ) and still not met reserve.
Next..... ;D

There hoping for alot aren't they more than £800 I guess its fair. :)
-
Nope i dont think more than £800 is fair, and i DONT think the £1007 final bid RESERVE NOT MET is even realistic.
My intrest stopped when it went over £750
Guess we will see it relisted!
