Jon Oliva's Pain. damn fine stuff..... (been a long time Savatage and Trans siberian Orchestra fan any how)
(it's a bit metal for some people, but melodically so..... great riffs, great guitar playing, and nice harmonic structures and progressions..... and yes, i'm partial to some metal, as well as blues, classical, and traditional folk stuff.... )

if you have the paid for service, there's a higher bit rate option, but the free service is acceptable for listening , up to a point..... for listening to new stuff prior to purchase, i can live with it.... but yes, it's a data compressed (rather than dynamic compression of level) stream....
better than some internet radio services, but not cd quality by any stretch.
how much is audible will depend entirely on the source material... some material survives it better than others .

gotta say, i'm also enjoying Nightwish....
a mate did some work on their last album on the strings.... which i got to dick about with at the time...
i'm finally getting around to the rest of the back catalogue.
basically i'm a sucker for big guitars.... and melodies and nice harmonies....
