Title: Guess what?
Post by: Debs. on 27 October 2010, 12:25:31
.......it passed! 8-)

Yay!......Deb`s pup-mobile lives-on for another year. :y

No advisories: but the MOT tester mentioned that the handbrake is 'slightly weaker' on one side.
So, all-in-all; not bad for my (nearly) 13 year old Miggy. [smiley=engel017.gif]

Ooh!.....nearly forgot to mention that it passed 'first attempt' and the tester said it has 'particularly clean' emissions despite the odometer reading of 197119 miles. :)

That is a nice result for you Debs  :y
However, I don't think the same can be said for it's low mileage owner, as her mind 'emmissions' appear to be getting dirtier as time goes by  ::) ;D ;) :-*

So, I`ll now be able to make the forthcoming Chester meet in the Pup-mobile instead of the Disco-inferno....... :y

;) Now, I can`t wait for March, what with the fame of being that month`s OOF calender picture; the Pup-mobile and my dogs wont be able to go out without being mobbed by Miggy-groupies!;D

mate you need the MOT tester that did my MV6

i'm sorely tempted to "have a bloody word"

love the car, but it should NEVER have been given an MOT....

cracked rear discs, warped fronts, totally shagged rear shocks, severe tramline wander lust , some other worn suspension bits,

*quite apart form the leaking HBV and cam cover gaskets*

and actually the return on the drivers seatbelt is suspect.....    it doesn't roll in without being "fed"

just hope it works in the event of a smash....  the lock appears to engage when you yank it though....

AND....

the MOT certificate has the wrong mileage.....   128K instead of 121...

something definitely hooky....

thinking about giving them a ring..... and making it quite clear they've been rumbled....

but not before i'm certain it'll pass another MOT , since the Elite is up at lee's and probably going to be broken.

The irony of MOTs is that knackered shocks and bad brakes can pass so long as they pass efficiency and don't leak.

Fluid leaks (fuel aside) are at most an adviso...

You`re quite right, Jimbob.....I feared the fault/remediation equation might`ve done for the pup-mobile at this MOT. :'(

I thought perhaps that drop-links/wishbone play might be suspect, as would be the handbrake efficiency; but only the latter was mentioned.....but I took advantage of the MOT test appointment to get the mechanics opinion on my Miggy`s mechanical condition.....the tester is approachable/friendly and interested in his job and customers, so was willing to give the Miggy a good general check-over whilst t`was up on the ramps (not just the MOT testable items).....He took me underneath to watch and he even checked the transmission`s fluid-level for me. :y

So, IMO: the £40. was well spent for a proper check-over and the MOT 'stificate'.....and a nice cup of 'real' coffee. 8-)
