... or should that be White raised letters ? :-?
Anyway .....
Just bought myself a pair of General Grabber 255 60 15 tyres for a song. Pretty pleased with them (especially as I have saved nigh on 200 sobs :)). They are in generally good shape but need a bit of tidying.
Any tips on restoring the white letters on the tyre sidewalls ? Getting the white bits white again isn't such a problem, but some of the raised letters have been rubbed away and need building up. Hopefully someone knows of a decent rubber compound in a tube.

Nah mate -- in my part of the world them sovs is sobs 8-)
sobs - pounds. Mispronunciation of sovs, short for sovereigns. An example of erroneous language becoming real actual language through common use.

This should do the job.

That'll do the whitening, Turk :y Just need some compound to build up the rubbed off bits ... was thinking the tubes of rubber guk you use on bike punctures might do it.
Lizzie --- must admit I like a whitewall on a classic ( well, some of them). But these are for my trike, needing that old 70's / 80's hotrod/ bug touch

Didn't somebody recently post that Martin Imber built up a rubber doyley into a key fob? Perhaps Martin can tell you where to get liquid rubber. :y

Hmmm .... at 10" wide methinks the arches would need some slight modifications. Would certainly be verging on sacrilege.
