Personally, I'm quite a Defender fan .......... :D
However, they seem to be a licence to print money, and seemingly ridiculous prices are asked for 'em.
Sod that - got me another 2.5TD! :y

got to admit i like them myself i even tried covincing the wife to get 1 when we needed a 7 seater but was met with a no no straight away :'( ive owned a 200 tdi offroader a few years back and would love to have another, even if just for fun ! I know they seem to hold there cash very very well but iam just not entirely convinced of the selling price of £6250

The Defender Td5 does have an Achilles Heel with that injector loom (for those that don`t know; it`s inside the rocker-cover with the hot oil-mist).......I personally know of two Td5 injector looms which have been on fire!....give me a Tdi anyday. :y

dont know about the new series but in one of the old ones one of the staff bought the car
and weeks of work and they make a few hundred quid, not much profit in the real world.

I like the Wheeler Dealer series but all the buyers for all the cars are a bit suspect. But that defender was way overpriced! I think it was all filmed this year as well.
As for someone from the show buying one of the cars it was Ed China who bought one.

ah yeah he bought that vw they converted into a camper, theres probably a massive unit somewhere with all the cars in that they have done sat gathering dust ;D

I too am a fan of the show. I am pretty convinced though that the "buyers" are members of the production crew or similar.
Iirc they spent more on the car than they apparently got for it ? And thats not taking into account that the lanky geezer is working for nothing. ::)
I think they may have an old Lotus Elan and a Bond Bug coming up in this series.
I had completely lost interest in cars for several years, hardly did so much as an oil change, but the first series of Wheeler Dealers rekindled my interest.I was inspired to buy a 205GTi as a project and doubled my money on it. :)
I think I preferrred the earlier series though where they were buying cars to sell at £1000 - £2000. Dont have quite the same interest in seeing them trying to flog a bodged up Ferrari etc.
