Title: RATAK.......rat poison.
Post by: Field Marshal Dr. Opti on 31 October 2010, 15:33:01
Is anyone familiar with this product?

The small rodent that lives in the driver's side front wing of my Omega seems to be very fond of it. I have placed several large portions for him in his very own "Little Nipper"...mouse trap......which he mockingly removes without setting it off....(He has far more "smarts" than I do) ;D ;D

So far...... he has devoured six large portions...(I estimate this to be about four times his body weight)....without any ill effects whatsoever.

I recently caught him scampering down into the bowels of the V6 engine bay .......having dined  out on his favourite food (RATAK  :( :( :()....followed by a nice dessert made up of my breather pipes......I must say that his coat looked extremely glossy....and his speed was dazzling.....I was unable to terminate... ;D ;D him before he disappeared from sight... :-/ :-/ :-/

I believe RATAK to be the most useless ineffective pest control I have ever encountered... :( :( :( :( :y

You need to lend your car to TheBoy for a week. He'll soon see sense and find somewhere else to live. :y

I happen to know a little about pest control... It is my father's line of work!

Any poison readily available to the public is in a very weak dose... That's Health and Safety for you (well COSHH actually!)

If you want to catch it the best bait is chocolate :y

Yep.... that sounds about right LD...... this rodent is more likely to die from extreme old age ......rather than RATAK......it's piss weak.... :-/ :-/ :-/

It's also slow acting and more effective the more the little furry friend eats... Persevere with the RATAK and use chocolate on the trap ;)

Incidentally... You are unlikely to find him when he does turn up his toes so be prepared for a game of "Hunt the rotting Corpse"! ::) ;D

you'll do better mixing some wheat grain with dry polyfilla...  There is no 2 ways about it, it will kill it...

Opti, I was plagued by one of those buggers & tried everything including chocolate & the sod got away with all of it! Then an old guy at the nearby allotments told me to get a couple of the hard red berries you find on bushes & trees at this time of year and fasten them with a needle & thread to a rat trap. I thought, yeah, yeah old wives tale etc. but bugger me next morning the rat was brown bread in the trap with the berries in its mouth! :o It's gotta be worth a try mate  ;) :y
