Knowing my luck, I would travel the length of the country at breakneck speeds, only to find that the beggar wasn't working. ;D

The action was welcomed by two Norfolk police offices, who have been cracking down on speed camera jammers since discovering them earlier this year.

Er.. haven't they been available for years? I mean I may possibly have had a 'garage door opener' fitted to a car back in 2002.. (not anymore, mind, ultimately it seemed fairly pointless when I stopped being a bad boy!)

They mentioned them on Fifth Gear a while back, not too much detail given the grey area of legality. But the one they had jammed the first attempt at a speed reading from the 'speed gun' which should have given you time to slow down so that by the time Plod's 'speed gun' was having another attempt to check your speed, you would be within the limit.

:-? Why does the article show a Gatso and the heading state 'camera jammer' ?   They will not jam a camera.

They will not jam a camera as it doesn't use the doopler effect the best jammer is a light right foot, cos if plod didnt get a reading off his £ 50,000 speed gun from your car only he is going to pull you...and when he finds your jammer charge you with perverting the course of justice...in france and germany i have heard of them inpounding the car :y

Ok...

I have done alot of research into these.

Norfolk Police policy is to impound the car , as it is used as evidence .

These gadgets will only work on laser , ie camera vans, hand held laser guns you see an officer use in a 30 mph zone for example.

The code shown on the Police Laser device is E03, the operator of the camera records all E03 codes, if they get 3 e03 codes over a time with the same vehicle  you will get a knock on your door, and your local roads policing officer will be seizing your car and arresting you .

This is starting to become a nationwide thing with other forces.

You have been warned ...   :'( :'( :'( :'(

But hope that helps  :y :y :y :y :y :y

There's a very easy way to circumvent all of these difficulties and save money - from buying extra equipment to paying out unnecessary money to the government - drive within the posted limits.

Would that not work?

Mmmm!  That's first gear in a Porsche I guess.  The government allowed me to buy one with 6/7 gears so I ought to be able to use them surely?  That's the level of argument I believe. ;)

Not quite Chris, I'm sure that the full range of gears can be used quite legally and within the posted limits of any road.

By extension, the right for some to carry arms - either in the course of duty or in pursuit of sport doesn't necessarily oblige those individuals to use them in inappropriate circumstances.

i would gladly stay within posted speed limits if they were realistic, here in wiltshire all manner off roads that were 40,s and 50,s and nsl for years in total safety now find they have been reduced because some lentill munchin, tree huggin, sandal wearing a$$wipe of a left wing do goodin crusader has decided to save the world :y

and that's what annoys most people. We have a dual carriage way by-pass around the town which was originally a 40mph limit. No surprise then that the limit was reduced to 30 as a Gatso went in at either end of a particular section.  :-?

reducing 60 limits to 50 is popular these days  >:(

Trouble is people end up doing 45mph, so its frustratingly slow. Car is most economical at 60/65, they are lowered for these incompetent fools who cannot drive

St Peter's Way, used to be NSL but now 50 with a total of five cameras along less than four miles of dual carriageway.
How much of that was for safety and how much for revenue generation?

dual carriageway up the rd got reduced to 30 last year cause some lazy rsoles got killed because they couldnt be bothered to walk to the crossings. so we have to suffer and go slow. 1 death was no more than 20 ft from the lights. flowers were there for ages. mum was well chuffed when i got her some  ::) ;D ;D

Fortunately  rarely need to drive along St Peter's Way, but it is rediculous. Similar to to the top of your road, Crompton Way/Moss Bank Way, what was once dual carraige way by-pass has that much white & green paint on it making it a single carraige way. No amount of paint on the road slowed down the clown in the go-faster ST Mundane that hit the poor woman in the Merc Coupe a couple of years ago. (I wonder what how she is)

Speed limits are all well and good.. but I can barely remember the last time I was behind someone actually doing the limit - usually 5-15mph under, which drives me bonkers.

A JCB going past on a low loader with the rear arm not tethered and swinging around did a good job. Knocked the head clean off and into the next field. :D

Brightened up a tedious drive no end. ;D

About 8 or 9 years ago I was heading from Oxford to Worcester in an arctic and the traffic was really heavy on the A44. Some half hour later as I got near the front of the traffic I realised what the hold up was... A bloke in a JCB moving from one gatso to the next beating the crap out of it with the rear bucket of his digger ;D ;D They were like that for ages afterwards ;D
