The policy expires 7/11 & the quote for the green Classic in recent pics was £108 fully comp. Value £1500. Just changed vehicles to the blue Cortina estate...pics @ w'end value £2500, renewal :- £78 f/comp!!! Result.
The 'tina is in particularly good nick & is a keeper so an agreed value will have to be thrashed out & premium adjusted accordingly but what with free tax, ebay & Newark autojumble awash with parts a carefully bought classic makes sense. :y

Who are you with Guy? We have the 54 Traveller, a 71 beetle and my tractor on a Footman James Multi-car policy for just under £300 for both of us to drive. Fully comp, unlimited mileage, glass cover, green cover etc..

That sounds like a good deal Guy :y :y :y
The only thing I don't get now, following my recent insurance company experience, is what would happen (heaven forbid!!) if the Cortina was badly damaged? Would they repair or claim "beyond economical repair", which seems more than likely, and then what would they pay out? :-/ :-/ :-/

I mis read the paperwork. The £78 was the premium without add ons for the previous year. Actual renewal with Lancaster would be £93. £250 excess, £60 windscreen excess & car must be garaged overnight if at home.
A friend in the Cortina world recomended another firm who quoted me £115 f/comp, £200 excess, £50 windscreen excess, green card & breakdown cover, fix or get you home. I'm happy with the piece of mind for another £22!!!! :y

The excess is a bit steep mine is only £50.00
This is for a 3.0l senny A.
The insurance itself is £137 for the year on 1500 miles this is with Peter Best.
