I like buying Vx semi synth! ;D
Unit price £21.80 for 5L + vat = £25.62 :o
Buy 20L with TC card and £22.05+vat = £25.91
Which works out at £6.48 / 5L :y
That was on my invoice today.....Oil Price Retail is actually more than is Retail price in my TC book (so vx dealer is charging more than vx say.....no suprise there!)
But i carnt complain coz the the TC price is actually lower than the TC book says! :D

An Oil thread!!!!!!!!! If i had my way way this thread would be locked at once :D
-
;D Well i started it 'tongue in cheek' and its only about the price of it ;)
NO ONE is to mention the difference in grades or which is best.....or Mr Laidback66 will come along and lock it and give me a b*llocking ::)
-
I am adopting the "if you can't stop 'em".... approach! ;D
Price is almost identical to what I pay too. :)
Don't know exactly why it is cheaper, but I am not drawing their attention to it!
-
I thought you used Fully synth dave? I am sure you said you wouldn't touch the vauxhall stuff if it was free ..... something about reserved for low-lifes I think you said? ;D
there, that should do it....... :y

Only Mobil 1 from Halfrauds is good enough for my baby! Also, I've heard that if you buy it on Trade Card they give you a different formulation which reduces your output by 1.25 BHP.
Whenever I pass a drain I drop a quid in it as well, just for good measure ;D
Seriously, though, that is a real bargain. I must get my ABS application off! I've been buying Chevron (fully synthetic, admittedly) in 20L containers from the local Costco and even that's double the price! It's also made my garage floor a bit slippery. Well, you try pouring oil from a 20L container into something more manageable!

what drain would that be.... ;) must run by it
and i guess pouring from a 20 litre tin would be like pouring from a keg of beer into a champagne flute :D

I guess so, but if it were beer I'd be drinking it from the keg for fear of spilling any ;)
Noticed the local garage where I get my MOTs done had some BIG drums of VX Semi synth too. He had a pump to dispense it with though.

Vx even give it to you in handy 4x 5L containers.....so be even better for you Kevin :y
Fully synth is nearly £50 for 20L +vat

Kevin, I can pick you some up and bring it to Keswick next month if you want.
PM if you need anything. I'm going this Saturday, but will be there again before June :y
-
My local Vauxhall dealer sold me 20L of semi synthetic for £19.98 + vat total £23.47 :y
-
AND YES, IT IS IN 4 X 5 LITRE CANS!

That's very kind of you. I have got a few oil changes worth in the garage still, however, and I'll probably get a TC card myself so I won't burden you with carrying a load of oil when you'll be needing the boot for camping gear. Oh, and beer :y

If youre in Costco why not just buy the Mobil 1? Its £21 inc VAT for 5 ltrs, as opposed to £45 in Hellfrauds, or £35 with Trade club :o
And before any one starts i dont care its what i use, and my breathers ar clean as a whistle, which i'm convinced is due to the oil not degrading and blocking up, and i go atleast 10k between oil changes :P

It's no problem for 2 reasons.
1. I drive an Omega and the boot on these things are huge :D
2. I'm bringing a caravan - essentially a 15" trailer with a fridge ;) so no worries about space.
So if you change your mind just let me know. :y
