Just washed the caravan, and put the cover on it for the winter. So has any other vanning members finished vanning for this season,or are they a tougher man than me.

This was us about 2 years ago. We don't really have a time when we don't use our 'van, and use it all year round.

This will be the first year for 15 years that we won't be spending New Year in the 'van ..... we'll be somewhere else rather famous but using Hotels this time ... :)

I used to use ours all year round, mainly at winter time
at Parkend in the Forest of Dean, but thats got to expensive now, price is based on 6 persons (good) but we are only 2 (bad).
We do most of our vanning with the CCC DA meets Gwent and South Wales, usually just a farmers field but a friendly crowd and value for money.

This might be the time for me to buy one ;)
I am looking to buy a Bailey Wyoming which I think are gorgeous :y I will then put it on a seasonal pitch until I get fed up with the place then move it on :)

Have bought several of our 'vans around New Year Daz.
The dealers are often overflowing with part-ex's at this time, and there's not a lot of cash around after Xmas.
Have had some pretty reasonable deals thence! :y

CCC DA = Camping and Caravanning Club District Associations ... very similar to Caravan Club Local Centres
Both run Rallies throughout the year, all our New Years have been at New Year rallies .. usually in school grounds so the hall and kitchens can be utilised for the "social" side of caravanning.
If we weren't off somewhere special this year we would be down on the South Coast for what promises to be an excellent new year rally with the Devon & Cornwall Centre
:)

I'm sure that the Hereford & Worcester group used to book a whole field at our Welland Rally each year.

gsd trainer, sorry should have more explicit what it means is
Camping and caravanning club District Association, eg Gwent,South Wales,West Wales, etc. ell worth the annual membership.
Is your members name,a anagram of German shepherd dog,or am I on the wrong track.

I doubt mine will be going anywhere else this year as i only use it for Mig & Classic car meets. The mags suggest folk visit ruins, stately homes, country walks etc... not my thing. However this is my first van & i do "get it" now as i love spending time in it. It's getting on a bit now but it's new enough to have a galv chassis, slopey 3 window front, thetford, full zig unit etc. It's a good make (Elldis) had some damp repairs at the front but has been dry & odour free for the 2 years i've had it. When i bought it they were fetching about a grand on ebay, i got mine for £200 as the seller used it for a work contract, made thousands & wanted it off his drive. Needless to say i bit his hand off!!! When i got it home for a good spring clean i found a toaster, leccy kettle. gas kettle & allsorts. It's just a little 2 berth end kitchen layout but has the full vanity unit (no drop down sinks here) in the shower room, 12/240 2 gas bottle set up, even a car cd/radio & speakers! It's fairly well specced & cosy inside & the fridge get's icy cold. Got a few niggly winter jobs to do but looking forward to next years events.
For the experts among you it's an Elldis Whirlwind GTX!!!!
Just thought, hav'nt some vans got some strange names?

Mines called a vogue, and I'm pretty Vague about that.
