I was going to register on a Model forum and I was wondering if anyone else on here has an interest?

I collect diecast but only the ones that are known as "obsolete". I don't know how far into it you are but i collect original Corgi/Dinky/Matchbox etc that i played with as a lad in the 60's & 70's. It's nostalgia really.
The difference being what i collect were marketed as toys whereas many models now are marketed as collectibles. Nothing wrong in that though. I admit it's my anorak hobby!!!

I have a large collection of 1/18 scale models, I had over 300 but sold alot of them as the prices were shooting up, so made quite a bit on them.
Still got about 40 good ones tho.

As a kid I had the Man from U.N.C.L.E car.....a blue Oldsmobile if memory serves....might be worth a few quid today... :y

When I was back home in Scotland I used to collect them primarily Vauxhall/Opel/Bedford items.
Still got most of them somewhere ( probably 50 to 60 )in the garage attic along with the display cabinets I made but these are the only ones on display now ,again relegated to the garage ::)
Funnily enough I've recently been looking over suppliers lists again as the quality and choice is amazing .
The Minichamps P1 Rekords at the bottom of the cabinet have the correct "olympia " script badge on the dash which can only be seen with a magnifying glass..................sad eh ?

Got the Man from uncle car. If you click the roof button the geezer leans out the window & shoots. ?It's the original model with the cast spotlights on the wings not the placcy ones.
Worth a few quid if mint boxed. On it's own a tidy one is £10/15 despite what some toyfair stall holders try to tell you!!! :y

Ha, I knew it, there are model collectors everywhere!!
I have a fair few 1:50 scale Corgi/WSI/Tekno trucks & trailers and a collection of Minichamps including the much sought after Focus RS's.

No mate just a tidy example of the car. I used to trade years ago before ebay when i lived down south. The amount of "trading" that goes on at toyfairs between stallholders before even those with "earlybird tickets" shocked me first time i saw it. Just a hobby now. I sell on ebay occasionally but only to get rid of unwanted models if i've bought a job lot for one or two but don't need the others.

I have a sundry collection of various matchbox/corgi /dinky cars in the loft. Most of them are nothing special, but I have three mint boxed police vehicle sets which were limited editions from about 20 years ago. They were said to be reasonably valuable at the time, and as this thread has reminded me of them I might just investigate what they are worth now.
