Hand-made sausages made with minced steak, onions, cracked black pepper and leeks, served with cheesey mash potato, carrots and peas, and onion gravy..............oh, and a couple of stuffing yorkie puds.

All followed with home made rice pudding with "skin" on the top and raspberry jam.

Can't wait to get home from work!!

I don't like the real world, i miss having a fat 4 figure disposable income  :'(

Lucky when I had money, Lloyd Grossman Pasta sauces were on offer £0.83, I practically emptied the entire shelf!  ;D

Stupid thing is, his 'For-One' range was £1.30 each  :-?

This way i make one big pasta meal, does dinner and lunch next day, bargin!  8-)

Had pasta for lunch so will eat less for dinner - which will be two pieces of good seed bread toasted, half an avocado (which is in very good order I have to say),  squeeze of lemon, sprinkle of black pepper and a few shavings of fresh parmesan (also in good order).

Followed by a few pieces of fresh fruit and some green tea and that's my lot to breakfast tomorrow morning.

Stick at it Mark, it's worth the slog, you're doing the right thing. Leave the ready made sauces out, use tinned toms & add mixed herbs, a squirt of tom puree, garlic granules an oxo cube & a drop of oil with chopped onion, salt & pepper to make your own sauce, cheaper & way healthier (no additives). As Cem said incorporate any veggies you can.
Many years ago when on a tight budget my weekly shop consisted of pasta, tinned tuna or mackerel, frozen petit pois peas (chuck a handful in anything, still do it now) healthy but cheap cereal like weetabix & fresh milk. Bananas are cheap & if you had to exist on any one food & water bananas would keep you going the longest compared to any other single food, loaded with vitamins & high in potassium. Guy. :y

I bought one of those a while back - haven't actually used it yet, though (although I did at least unpack it).. Sadly I think it may end up like the steamer (in a cupboard!) :(

Theoretically easy .. but who gets up early enough to get it all ready in the morning?

Then again, on the basis that I never have anything in the house that's edible beside frozen food and cereal (not milk, you notice, because that goes off..) ..  :-X

I used to .. my parents were big growers of vegetables at one point or another in their lives, and they'd grow these enormous tasteless watery monstrosities..

I have to say, though, that once you scoop out most of the insides and fill it with flavoured stuff like mince with vegetables & curry powder.. it wasn't bad at all.
