Title: Timing Adjustment...
Post by: WGoins88 on 18 November 2010, 21:25:59
Just wondering, when I watched the Cambelt DVD, they mentioned that our engines are one of the few where the cam sprockets can be degreed. Since I heard that, I was wondering is it possible to degree them for a performance boost, or is it not possible..possibly due to the belt being too loose? Just wondering!

Thanks

Timing is timing, play about with it at your peril.

To boost performance you would probably want to change intake relative to exhaust, which you can't do except in units of a whole tooth without vernier pulleys.

You'd probably find that the cams are so mild that there's nothing to be gained IMHO.

Without changing cams, I doubt there is much to gain. To be honest, all the ones I've seen, the further away it is from perfect, the worse overall performance seems to be...

Damn... oh well. I don't want to attempt it if no one has tried it... all I need is to murder the valves after putting over $450 into the car!  :D
