Title: Scuttle Drains!
Post by: Darth Loo-knee on 13 May 2007, 12:07:34
Were blocked up with mud and leaves gallore so a little thank you to x25xe for the idea to check them whilst reading the maintence section...
Also emptied the screenwash water as it stinks and fixed the none working washer jet with an airline ;D
Building myself up for in a couple of weeks time will be doing dashlights, plugs and leads, (off m-tek performance) then Aux belt and clean out breathers... Hopefully with the help of Ever Faithful Elite Pete :y ;D

Did mine too after reading the guide.

The drain was a really obscure route on my '94 (different and more straightforward on '98 MF).   But felt good having done it. :)

Car still pongs inside though. :(

At the bottom of the rear screen, on both corners, there is a little 'flap' about 1" wide that flips upwards to allow cleaning between the rubber seal and the body - worth lifting it from time to time and cleaning with a water using a paintbrush. It tends to gather muck which in turn blocks the water passage around the seal and can also cause rot. I have not on the facelift, can't remember though if I also had it on my previous pre-facelift...
