Title: Freebie old computer bits
Post by: TheBoy on 27 November 2010, 16:53:43
Collection only (or OOF postal service), as cannot be bothered to sort out postage.  My trip to the tip is tomorrow.  I don't mind holding on to bits for 2 or 3 weeks if you defo want something.

HP Scanjet 5p (can provide SCSI cards/cable if reqd)
Full Tower ATX case
Dell C-Dock 2 Latitude docking stations
NEC1300 DVD writer (probably with 'alternative' firmware on)
Some kind of 'video enhancer' (pics to follow)

I'm sure there will be more later, the further into this room I get  :-[

Sega Game Gear with power adapter and 2 game cartridges (Sonic the Hedgehog and Aryton Senna Super Monaco GP 2).

Fired up Sonic, there are a lot of hot pixels on the display.  Mind you, I got further into Sonic than I ever have done previously ;D ;D

If you can arrange getting it to you, you're welcome - want me to remove from the 'off to the tip' room (aka, the hallway!), and put to one side?

Yes please :y

I may ask either Max or Josh to take it off your hands or I might just have a day out next weekend.

BBC Micro, Model B.  Untested (as can't find a micro to TV lead, and even less inclined to tune the telly in), but from memory has a weird issue in text mode - it transposes certain characters when keys are pressed!  Pretty certain it has DFS, and pretty certain I have a 5.25 floppy, possibly even some disks.

Video enhancer.

Not after it but is this the sort of box to add edge enhancement when copying tapes?

If so I suggest you list on Ebay classic video section.

Old video kit fetches a lot of money sometimes

Not got the time or inclination to sod around with egay this side of Christmas. Hence its off to the tip.

No idea what it does (dont have a PSU), but reading between the lines, I suspect it removes the sync, and puts a new sync on.  :-X

Hmm. Tempted just for the challenge of getting it working. ::) Then again, I've got 2 working ones. Would be a shame for it to get skipped though. :-/  :'(

Stick it in the loft for later then - that will fetch money

I would most certainly give the BBC a good home...  Even though it would appear I may be 3rd in the list...

It was one of the first computers I ever used, both for playing and programming on, even if it was the best part of 30 years ago...

Luckily, there was no room in the car for it, so that was due for next weekend's visit to the landfill.  I'll pop it with the MCE case and the lead :y (along with the beed disk drive, when I come across it)

Hmmm, not sure if that went this time, or is going next weekend.  Either way, it is NOT going back into the loft, it will find a new home 25m below the surface in a big pit just outside Ardley...

Apple 1 was rare. BBC ain't.

My Sinclair stuff I may keep (ZX Rectums, 81s, QLs, I/F 1 & 2s etc), not that they have value, but I would struggle to part with them...

Sega Megadrive, in orig box.  Not opened box, but assume its all there...

SNES...  ...hmmm, tempted to keep that, still think Super Mario World was the best platform game ever.

Take it if you want it, Zirk / Psychoca. As said, I already have 2 and will get grief if I am found with a third, seeing as I'm trying to get rid of junk myself. ::)
