Title: More snow/Truck capers!
Post by: Amigo on 03 December 2010, 21:13:18
Did'nt go in until midday. Had an empty 20ft box to load @ a regular customer's in Bradford, an hour & a half each way, nice little friday job. Yeah right. Got going along the M180, cold air blowing in cab & temp. gauge reading high. Spun round, back to yard, dropped trailer & box, truck in workshop. Not enough anti freeze, top end hot, bottom end frozen. Coupled a Scania (YUK) up to the trailer & set off again, same flipping problem!!! & steam etc. Sat freezing til it cooled down & limped it back. Dropped trailer again, got back in my own truck (Volvo :y) all done, lovely & warm & had to pick another trailer & box up to get lifted off on the dock, then back to yard where we have to reverse in at the mo or we get stuck in the slush. drop empty skelly & couple up to the one i'd dropped twice earlier & now have to do the Bradford run tomorrow as it's a "boat catcher" ::)
If you think this is tiresome to read you're not wrong. It was mind numbing doing it & no lay in tomorrow!!!! >:( >:( :'(

That's unforgivable! :o

I'm guessing an engine rebuild is not a cheap prospect on a vehicle like that.

Well done for picking up the signs before it was too late - twice!

No not cheap. All is well though. Boss bought gallons of anti freeze & both trucks survived with a thorough blast from a space heater, drop bottom hoses etc.. Did said Bradford run this morning & got paid sat hrs for getting out of bed, had the window open it was so warm...toasty toes!!!! :y
