Title: British driving standard?
Post by: Del Boy on 03 December 2010, 18:51:59
Now my son earlier was doing a video of how bad the big beemer is in the snow, but we got a little bit of that, but we also got how bad some people in Britain drive in even these conditions. Now as you can see in the video bloke in a Polo pulled straight out in front of me on the mini roundabout, now you're telling me I couldn't be seen? Oh excuse the language  :)

When he's already waiting as there are cars going by him, I go, he couldn't go forwards because as you see later in the video he was waiting for a bus and 2 cars to go by him, in fact let me tell a lie and say the bus was by the rear of his car, first car was at the side of his car and the 2nd car was just across his front bumper, he was also just inside the junction letting the cars and bus go, including the car behind me, that's why I carried on, I was commited, at that moment in time he wasn't.. Of course as I drive a BMW i'll be lying and trying to get out of this, because as I drive a BMW I'm a prick  :)

Oh and no, it's not a school day as far as driving is concerned, I know how to drive perfectly well thanks  :y

Not a fight at all mate, you couldn't see the cars up the road in the video, so you were perfectly within your rights to say something. I just said what actually happened  :)

I did note that your hands were not holding the steering wheel in either the ten-to-two or the quarter-to-three position at specific moments.  ;)

Anyways, you're blimmin' right about that Polo.  Very dim behaviour, especially in this weather.

Beemers get unfair press. It's not the cars but SOME not all of the drivers. Sadly SOME of them are complete cocks. Being on the road i see/experience it regularly. Indication?' lane changing, pulling in front of the truck in my "safe space" then braking????? It's your life pal if you don't want see to your wife & children again, your beemer is like stepping on a matchbox. That said many others are as bad & many /beemer drivers give me room / flash me out as they've just paid a fair whack for thier new motor & don't want it scratched.
    It's mostly down to the driver not the car but sadly some makes attract eejits & get themselves a bad name with seems unfair as it's hardly the cars fault.
   I've had two Beemers in the past & they were both cracking motors. I could set off anywhere in confidence & if i ever gave up Migging i'd probably buy another one...or an Audi!!! :y

I reckon I'd make a great JP in the local court.

<Rumpole voice>
I also noted at one point you said 'innit'.  6 points, £200 fine for that hienous crime.

Case dismissed!  ::)  ;D

Tools are tools on the road and it is never the car IMO, however i find a lot of higher end 'marque' cars have drivers in them that think the world owes them something as they've done good. So we should keep out of there way what amplifies this situation is the people that dive these marques as a company vehicle because not only do they have the same opinion as above they really don't give a shit about the car as its not theres >:( >:(
