Is it just me or have fuel prices gone through the roof since the cold snap? past loads of places and unleaded/Diesel has gone up a good 4 to 5 pence.
I know fuel tankers are running behind on their deliveries but it seems like there trying to conserve their supplies or just rip people off >:(

i would't know, last time i bought petrol was in August ;D

Actually I should stick another tenners worth in, fuel light will be on soon and it annoys me.
Did well though, back in August i only stuck a tenner in then too. But with this weather, I am thinking i should have a larger reserve if i get stuck :-/

Wheesel is £125.9 around here and thats the supermarket rubbish >:(

I filled up on ESSO at 115.9 on Tuesday, but they are probably the cheapest in Kent. My local Sainsbury's is running at 119.9 ::) ::) ::)

thats similar to some stoke and stafford prices with petrol being around 121.9 :o
-
Cheapest diesel around here is £120.9. I would love to know what the .9 is all about :-? Just round it off to £1.21p

Indeed, and the extra weight will help as well :y
You'll also be running more on petrol this time of year, as warm up time is longer...

Asda (by far the cheapest around my commute) has gone up 3 times in the last week - was sat at 115.9 for ages, then went up a penny every couple of days.
I notice the BP on the A34 wanted 71.9p for LPG :o (and 122.9 for unleaded)
-
coming through london yesterday i went past a garage they are charging 138.4 for unleaded and 146.1 for diesel
-
petrol has just gone up round here, its 116.9,
how the hell do they justify chargin hearly 1.50 a litre.
also why the hell do we (britain) get charged so much for petrol from the pumps when its only 45pence a litre to produce, we are the highest taxed country for petrol and its not rite, its a f*****g disgrace, i started dring 7 years ago petrol was at 63pence a litre, so in 7 years its doubled in price, i know my wages haven't doubled in price, neither has anythin else so why do the govenment feel the need to tax us so heavily when we all pay road tax, income tax, insurance premium tax, vat. its not rite, how the hell can the govenment and country be in so much debt when 85pence out of every litre that is bought goes into there pot, what the f**k they doin with the money, part from buyin bird tables and employin there children as cleaners etc etc etc
-

a fair few garages charge that sort of amount in central london i dont see how they get away with it
-
My local LPG station put the LPG price up 4ppl overnight Thursday! :o >:(
Even the BP down the road is 4ppl cheaper! Filled up in Ipswich while I was there yesterday and saved 10ppl :o :y Could probably have saved a bit more if I'd gone a little further in the wrong direction but couldn't be bothered as I was only topping up about half a tank :y
-
Most of the garages around here are 121.9 for diesel a couple are at 123.9!! Unleaded is on average 2p cheaper!! It was until recently sat at 115.9 for ages!!

Supply and demand Millwall. Some (idiots!!) are obviously paying it as those stations are obviously making enough sales for them to justify it, and their bottom line must be healthy!! ::) ::)
-
very true lizzie and in all honesty the people that are usually in these garages have very expensive cars and probably dont care what the price is

How right you are! It reminds me that there is a garage I pass just outside Goudhurst in Kent that sells classic cars along with fuel. Often has E-Types, Aston Martins, the odd Rolls Royce, Range Rover, with other classics, sitting on the forecourt for sale. Their unleaded was at 1.25.9 per litre many weeks ago!! ::) ::)

It must bring such a smile to the faces of the government when these fuel prices keep rising!!!! ALL that extra money in the coffers...............They just can't think of a way to waste it quick enough!!!Who shall we bale out next!!!!!!

They need the money to pay for things that they should close down - NHS, public transport, most of the benefit system
Its one of those its acceptable to tax, and the tree-huggers love so-called green taxes...
-
Not to mention the 2.5% hike in Jan...

The Irish bail out is good for the UK (not so great for Ireland).

'kin 'ell - shouldnt this be investigated? sounds like market manipulation price fixing to me. I'd love to open a garage in London, charge £1 a litre and make money off charcoal, porn and fags 8-)
sorry its London......make money off of jellied eels, man-bags and over-priced coffees :y

Cheapest LPG is 67p.
65.9p at a few LPG stations around here (Shell and Total), one of the Total's in Milton Keynes (I work in MK) is 63.9p, but wrong side of the town.
Expecting it to go up, but I'm still quids in until it hits around £1 per litre (and assuming petrol stays at around £1.20).

I have been listening to an oil industry "expert" this afternoon on tv who has stated by about February next year diesel will be up to 1.30 per litre, and at the moment supplies are also in trouble, so fuel prices in general are going up now! ::) ::) ::) ::)
He said that the rise in VAT and fuel tax will not help at all :P :P
-
I went to an independant last night.....his diesel is 124ppl, not the cheapest in Swindon, but not far off pence or two dearer......but he had run out of diesel.
So shortly i swung into a Texaco that i was passing.....it was only as i was putting diesel in, i noticed the price on the pump, 128ppl :o >:(
It makes me wonder if that price is because some garages are running out and the Texaco is exploiting the situation.

I filled up SWMBO's Jazz at Esso at the bottom of Kingshill yesterday, 1.169 unleaded. I think his diesel was 1.229:y

I was over Coleview area earlier, both Sainsbury's and the Esso garage are 119.9ppl for diesel......sorry didnt make a note of unleaded, but must be 117/118ppl
-
They sure have shot up, my local Shell had ran out of Diesel, as I was literally on fumes in the van, I had to put £15 in at the price of £1.27.9 >:( >:(
-
$92 per barrel of oil, so expect around £1.22 per litre.
-
this might explain it a bit....of course the fuel we buy is made from oil bought at lower prices months ago....but I'm quite sure they have the consumers best interests at heart :y

Splendid idea Lizzie.
What a wonderful way to create employment and make use of coal - that one remaining under-exploited natural resource we can conveniently (for the most part) lay hands upon. :y :y
