Title: Indicators on New Cars
Post by: Auto Addict on 05 December 2010, 07:59:01
It's amazing the number of new cars on the road whose indicators don't work, you'd think they'd have them fixed under warranty.

well if they dont put them on then the bulbs dont blow and they wont have to be replaced.  wonder how many new car's indicator stalks have never been touched.  drives me up the wall, the same with middle lane or outside lane hoggers.

My uncle used to work for a large company that made light bulbs and he point-blank refused to re-design them for shorter life when asked to do so by a car manufacturer.  It was a long time ago but I guess manufacturers don't have to ask these days.

Bring on LEDs.

P.S.  I have a 2001 Focus here and it is rather partial to blowing headlamp bulbs.  Both had to be replaced in the last month.  Probably twelve months since the previous outage.  Not good.

My astra G used headlight bulbs like a gooden, that is to be honest half the reason I wanted Xenons in the H van.

I've got used to the faulty indicators. It's the sticking fog light switches that get me. >:(

Hereabouts, in the un-streetlit 'wilds'; it`s people who selfishly don`t bother to dip for oncoming cars. >:(

No, no no ...... those aren't faulty or unused indicators. they are the latest in telepathic indicators  ::)

The only problem is that many, if not all, cars over a year old are not fitted with telepathic indicator receivers ... that's all  :D

Don't you know that all new cars have indicators as optional extras. It's a shame the drivers aren't optional ;D

I've had two headlight bulbs blow last week. The same one!

Also some car manu's make changing a headlight bulb near impossible for 'joe bloggs', so they have to book it into a garage just to get the bulb changed!
