Cant believe its 30 years. Remember it like it was yesterday. Got up to get ready to go to work, put the kettle on, switched on the radio in the kitchen and a voice said "John Lennon has been shot dead in New York". I was stunned.
went back upstairs in a daze and told my (then) girlfriend.
Went to work but couldnt concentrate on what I was doing that day. :(

I was working in a shitty area of Belfast at that time, although due to the prevailing conditions the incident wasn't discussed much.

i was 11, i remember my neighbour who must have been about 17 and massively into the Beatles, locked himself away for a week and didnt speak  :o

when George went a few years ago, someone rather sickly but accurately said "the Beatles are dying in the wrong order"  :-[
