Title: Laser Speed Detectors
Post by: Mr Skrunts on 08 December 2010, 23:57:52
Do they work?  Am I right or wrong in thinking the hand held ones are the laser ones.

Has anyone got one.

I remember seeing the Pogo one tested on 5th gear ages ago.

Scrunts..You don't drive enough to break the speed limit, and at your age you don't speed anyway ::) ::) if you did for the price of those you could afford the odd speeding fine..... :D :D :D

I have my moments vamps. I shouldnt but I do, 3rd gear has been maxed more than once in a year's driving.  :-X

Plus I found out the Omega is quite well balaned when airbourne going over hump back bridges, nice landing as well  :-[ :-X

The issue I have is that the sensor array is only going to detect a laser when its pointed at it......which is a bit late TBH!

Odds on delivered I bet.  ;)

From what I've seen, do they not also suffer from spurious alerts as well? Like movement sensors on shop automatic doors? Or something like?

Anyway as Mark says, by the time the laser is "eyes on" you've been clocked and your sitting there thinking what's that man in an a day glow jacket pointing at me? If your "cracking on" then you really should be paying attention IMO. Or visiting spec savers  :-X

Yep, complete waste of money IMHO. Might have been worth it for the radar based guns as the signal does scatter, but no chance with a laser gun.

TBH, as Chris says, they are easier to detect by eye with all the hi-vis 'elf'n'safety gear they wear.  :D
