The Boiler says on it, Main Combi 24 HE
Mrs. Looknee noticed that the Flame Failure light was on. So it turned the dial to reset held it there for 20 seconds then turn it back to on, the boiler licks in and seems to be working fine for just under 2 minutes then the Flame Failure Light comes back on.. I have repeated this a few times and the same happens each time :(

Perhaps water in the gas supply pipe/meter?.......reduces flow and pressure and causes flame instability; quite common in some areas and if so, you need the gas board to come and suck it out.

I would think there is enough hot air in the Knee homestead without the need for a boiler. :P ::) ;D ;D

Just a thought Daz...check that the flue hasn't become partly blocked by ice/snow other debris, it could be that simple, then again...... :-/

Check the condensate drain is not frozen............it would seem most plumbers are demonstarting their incompitence on fitting modern boilers and how they are totaly incapable of following basic manufacturers fiting instructions. (as I have seen 7 like this in 2 weeks!)

Heres the installatrion guide which will show you where the condensate drain is (and it also tells you how it MUST be installed!)

My money is on the condensate drain spent three hours defrosting one for some one today>

If it's external and not in 32mm disconnect at boiler end and stick a bucket under the drips, Not ideal but gets you heat and hoidioter overnight :)

Yeap you were right Guys, this little condensation catching plastic bottle was full and the pipe that is supposed to take it outside must be blocked, i lagged the pipe outside the other week so that obviously has not worked.
Just got the heating back on so i will have to keep my eye on the level of water.

Thanks again for your Help, once again the Forum's members vast knowledge is a God Send. X x x x

Thanks

Another shite boiler install by those who are supposed to know what they are doing (and are SUPPOSED to be compitent).

Hence why I do my own boiler and gas work and screw the authorities!

Get the Countess up to breathe on it. That should keep it defrosted nicely. ;D

If you look at the building regs and the boiler instructions, it gives details of how to install it correctly.

So the fitter needs to come back and make sure it meets those requirements  :y
